Anyone planning on going to this? I'm a Derby collector, all being well I'll be popping over.

I always go to the Sheffield fair the day before.

Its usually a good fair, obviously there's a heavy Sheffield/Rotherham,Barnsley,Donny bias but I've picked up a few decent bits and bobs.

SMK - Unless you want ManU or Citeh progs you'd probably get greater joy going to Stafford Rangers on the 18th January as therers more Midland specialist including Derby present

I know but not sure I can make that. I've contacted quite a few dealers going to Manchester who are bringing some Derby progs with them.

Did you make it to Sheffield today SR?

The usual ruck at all the stalls, I don't really enjoy this type of fair, I like to be able to browse, not feel like I'm at a free for all!!!

And some of the prices today.......don't dealers realize there's a credit squeeze at the moment? Crying or Very sad

Yes I made it, but like you said, was very disappointing. Got there about 11.15 but left at 12.30 due to pushing and shoving. In previous years, Ive got there for the last hour, so its my own daft fault !
Only ended up with one Donny home from 1955 costing me 7 quid, so I suppose I saved money really !!

Blimey we must have arrived and left together.....thats just about the same times I arrived and left too!

Spent about a tenner, didn't find any Boston stuff, not that I expected to although Mick Hewitt had a small box full of bits I'd already got.

As usual Denis Clareborough had the best stuff but as usual you couldn't get near him and when you could the prices were a bit steep.

In my opinion this fair was much more customer friendly to attend when it used to be held in the larger room at the Holiday Inn, Sheffield. It's already been mentioned the "scrums" at the six stands. There would, i believe, be enough interest from dealers to have a stand at this fair ( in the larger room ) thereby having it the same size as the Altrincham Fair. I for one miss the programme fair at the Swallow Hotel, South Normanton. I had just started dealing at that fair in it's last couple of years before it suddenly disappeared from our diaries. Fingers crossed, it, or another local to it may one day reappear.

Smile I attended the Altrincham Fair and I thought it was OK .
Lots of Manchester United as expected ,some well overpriced in my opinion.A DERBY COUNTY Stall which was very nice .John Litster as pleasant as ever, as was John Dee.John Dee is a really good honest fair priced seller, and can be recommended.Cheltenham Town Fan had a stall ,and there were some real bargains there.Karl Madden ,a Man City Fan I think ,had a very good selection of City ,and United at reasonable prices. Some Welsh Programmes ,Cardiff in abundance were also at one stall .I picked up 5 bargains and spent less than a tenner.Blyth Spartans V North Shields 1956 @£2,2 50s Chester Reserves @£1 each ,Washington AFC NE Club who apparently seldom issued a programme,50p.Everton Youth v Man Utd condition fair from 1959? £3.All in all a satisfactory visit ,and hopefully another one next year .Happy New Year to all Collectors hope you find all the items you require .

Hi Mark, on the off-chance do you have a contact number, or better still email address for Karl? I need to get hold of him to ask him to bring something along for me next matchday. Cheers in advance, Paul.
