List Of Arsenal Books

Hi All,
I am a casual reader of the forum but rarely comment however, I would like to ask for some help from all of the experts out there and ask if anyone knows of a list of books about Arsenal its history and players that may have been collated. Over the last few years I have put together a decent collection but I am sure there are plenty of others that I still require.

Hi, if you can list your books, I will then compare it with my bookshelf and then respond. I think I have most, up to perhaps 1990s. Quite a lot after then as well but definitely not all as I don't look for them......

Join a Facebook group I moderate (if you have an account) to view the Arsenal album, over 260 books on Arsenal in the album already

Thank you for your quick responses, at the moment I do not have a list of Arsenal books that I have collected but I will put one together when I have the time. I am amazed that there is already a gallery of 260 different Arsenal books and although I am not on Facebook I will enlist some help to view it and that will probably act as the list I am looking for. It sounds like I will have to do some searching to find 260!!

It's a really interesting and helpful page that includes lots of stuff that you might not immediately think of as books e.g, 5 copies of Leonard Evans various booklets, many AFC handbooks, books that were included in AFC membership packs, AFC yearbooks etc etc. I was interested to see that there were 4 different versions of "The Arsenal Stadium Mystery". I've signed up to the FB group and added the official AFC 1931 limited edition book, although the cover of that is quite boring. It is good to see so many AFC items all in one place.

When you do your list suggest you do it in alpha order by author and/or by title. I'm putting all my stuff on an Excel spreadsheet but it's going to take years, if I live that long!

Hi Grantham,
Sorry for the delay in replying but I was able to enlist some help over Christmas and was able to view the photos of the Arsenal books on your Facebook page and I found it very impressive.
This will act as a guide for me as to some of the books that I don't already have in my collection and of particular interest are some of the older items for example the books by Herbert Chapman and Leslie Knighton along with both issues of the Arsenal Stadium Mysteries.

There's a famous and quite fascinated book by Peter Seddon, 'Football Compendium', it's basically an exhaustive list of every football book printed in the UK in the 20th century. It was printed in the late 90s/early 2000s. I'm sure Arsenal, like every other club have probably generated more books in the past 25 years than in the previous 100 years, but Seddon is a great starting point for any football book collector

Thanks for the heads up on this book, I had not heard of it but I have managed to buy one on Ebay today.
I am sure you are correct that Arsenal have had many books either official or non official issued since the early 2000's but it is the older ones that I am more interested in. It sounds like this book may detail the Arsenal books I am looking for.

Hi All,
The book has arrived and as seandel1 says what a book it is, over 800 pages and weighing in the region of 2kG. It is divided into 14 chapters with each one covering different areas of football for example club histories, players autobiographies, coaching and skills even one on collecting football memorabilia. Each section has an introduction and what to look for in it and even places values on the most interesting items within it albeit figures that are now 25 years old but they do give an indication of the rarity of the item.

Most interesting to me are the club history section where there are 70 Arsenal items detailed and the players autobiography chapter where there is over 900 different issues to select Arsenal interest from
Although not an actual list of Arsenal books it is a fantastic place to start with and an incredible library of printed football literature.

As I said in my earlier post I purchased this book from Ebay and I am sure the seller would not have made any profit on this sale as it was available for £5.74 buy it now, post free.
