Followed the link - fascinating stuff, Leslie.
An hour had flown by before I knew it.
I didn't realise that one of the 44 passengers on that plane was a baby. I'm assuming the child survived but if you could verify that it would be good to know. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/derby1884/sets/ |

Harry Gregg ran into the burning plane and rescued the child who he heard crying and Mother True Hero never considered his own safety.
Thanks for Viewing appreciate it.

Wasn't the rescued mother Mrs Lukic, mother of Leeds keeper John? I thought I heard that somewhere. |

Mrs Lukic and daughter did survive the crash but they were not related to John Lukic |

Thanks Leslie, that's real heroism.
David Peace's book "Munichs" arrived in the post last week. I bought it on the strength of an excellent write-up it received in the Guardian.
Have you read it yet? _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/derby1884/sets/ |

No i have not, I know it is a different angle on the matter, but to be honest as Manchester United fans we have all had to grow up with it. _________________ To see 20,00++ original items relating to Newton Heath & Manchester Utd 1878-2023 then visit www.flickr.com/photos/manchesterunitedman1/sets to see entire uploads.

I'm 25% through it. It really brings the harrowing events and aftermath to life though it could perhaps have done with a little more artistic licence. Not sure about the title though from a United fan's perspective. |
