I have recently picked up this great Match Action Postcard from a match at Burnden Park.I am assuming the team in white is Bolton.

From the referees outfit I assume it’s circa 1930?

Can anyone help?

I do not know about anyone else but I am not seeing photographs any more, such as the one in this thread.

Up to a couple of months ago I used to see photographs, now I get an icon but when I click it nothing happens.

Anyone know why?

It looks like a Bolton shirt in white and is probably a match against someone like Arsenal,,, but it could also be England? Did The Football League representative team play any games at Burden Park late 1920s or early 1930s? I don’t think the England team played any matches there. Hard to tell from the pic , but middle of the goal in white shirt could be Dixie Dean?

Think it's pre-war, the player in dark shirt near the referee has no number on his back. I would tend to agree with Pie, it could well be Arsenal.

With white collars on shirts it could also be Manchester United late 1920s early 1930s? A tough one!
