i have a small(ish) lot of non league programmes that i genuinly have no idea what they are worth.
i know i will probably have the "not worth much mate" brigade out in force but at the risk of unbalancing mankind i will list what i have and if anybody wants to tell me what they are worth or indeed what they are worth to anybody else please send me a pm or similiar

Bridgewater v Weston s Mare-western league 18/4/59

That is a negative attitude treble i am surprised. You say you have no idea what they are worth , so you ask peoples advice , then you already having a dig at people who may say they are wothless. Needles to say then , only collectors who think they are worth alot need reply to your thread then?
I find this quite often in the forum. People ask for valuations and when collectors give an honest opinion , some people seem insulted.
I don't think there are gangs of "not worth much mate" brigade on here, just people having an honest say......

i think you are completely wrong and the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
you are the only reply i have had and you have not given me any information.
only a bollocking which i am more than capable of getting off my wife.
i genuinly have no idea of the value of anything i have just bought as i have no knowlege whatsover of what i have just bought.
i bought a box of about 250 programmes of which i needed just one.
i am happy to move on the approximately 249 others.
if they are worth 50p each then so be it but what i didn't want is the usual bedroom bandits telling me "not worth much mate" as a standard answer.
what i was/am looking for is genuine help from geuine collectors/dealers as to what i have and what it is worth.
that is what i believed/hoped this forum is all about.

genuine collectors and dealers coming together to share information without the tossers coming in the middle trying to make a quick buck due to lack of knowledge of which i clearly have a lack of in this scenario.

call it negative, call it realistic, call me a grumpy old bastard but at least call me honest

With respect, I think you are both showing a lack of understanding of the market place.

In my opinion worth is not a static it moves from person to person and time to time. What any of us really NEED to know is the minimum we could expect when an item is sold. Therefor the "not worth much" comments are valid. But as a seller it's not what you want to here is it? you want to here is the most you could get for an item, hoping to be surprised I suspect.

As for the list, non-league is one of those areas that confuses the hell out of me and because of the nature of it I don't think many would have a good handle on even half the programmes. I think your programmes will be worthless to 99% of the collectors but I also wouldn't be surprised to see any of them get £5.00 if you found the right person.

Personally I don't see the point of asking for values on here for items you intend to sell (most are throwing them of e bay). And they do get confused with values of items people intend to keep - they are different. If you were keeping these I would say £5.00 because then you would be on the buyer side of the market and thats the price you might have to go to replace them.

there have been some very recent posts where people have asked for valuations and really the programmes were to be honest i shall say " run of the mill " to be kind.
Members like Bremner4 and Auchinleckian gave very diplomatic and honest answers without being cruel or rude, which was good of them, as most ( including myself ) would privately think " Crap" but would be scared to say so , as not to look like a " know it all ....worthless brigade" type.
Kickoff3pm is spot on, as programmes are only worth what someone is willing to pay.
I guess the best thing to do is list them all and ask for offers. I mean it's free to do so, and if as said, 99 percent think something is crap, there could be someone willing to pay good money for them. I'm always after interesting Oxford City programmes...

In all honesty none are very well collected clubs, I'd be tempted to stick them on fee-bay as a 4.99 job lot and see what happens. If all else fails put them in an auction with some other non descript league stuff.

No 50's Boston Utd home or away in that box was their Les? Thumbs Up

thank you Andy for your honest opinion.
i will probably give them to my son and let him list them on feebay to try to raise a few pounds for his university career.
there are 200/300 of these programmes so they should keep him busy for a while.
first check did not show any Boston Utd unfortunately but i will check them more thoroughly and revert back if there are any.
finally my name is not Les but Ray Adler.
you are possibly confusing me with Leslie Millman.
i am a Manchester United collector with probably the largest Manchester United collection in the world.
Feel free to google "Ray Adler Manchester United"
You should find out a lot about me and my collection although don't believe everything you read.
If i can help anybody with their Manchester United collection feel free to drop me a pm or if anybody has anything Manchester United related that they want to sell please again drop me a pm.

Very interesting article 'Les!' I remember selling you some Utd. programmes about a year ago, didn't realise I was selling them to a celebrity!!
