Football Programme Restoration - Eamonn Fitzmaurice

Hi all

For my sins I have decided to collect Bolton Wanderers FA Cup final Programmes. I started off a number of years ago purchasing the programme from the 1958 FA Cup win against Man United. Today, I have become the proud owner of a 1923 FA Cup Final Programme.

Unfortunately this programme has 4 punch holes on its back page. Plus the rusting staples have been removed. Other than this it is in good condition. It was within my price range and so I was willing to compromise.

I came across these forums in a google search and the name Eamonn Fitzmaurice. Unfortunately, Eamonn past away back in 2021. Sounds like he was a real gentleman and a well respected part of the community.

Did anyone ever take up the mantle of football programme restoration. I know there are reprints of the 1923 Fa cup final programme so it will be possible to 'replace' the holes. I am not really interested in increasing resale value this is more so I can have this relatively rare item in the best condition possible for the future. I am planning on being its owner for the next 40 or 50 years. In other words something to pass onto my children.
