Charlton Athletic v American Soccer League 1937

I have had this Official’s “ribbon” in my collection for some time.

Measuring around 4”x1”, it has a safety pin at the top.

Were these commonplace, or do others exist? Or was it just an American thing?

The game was played at the Polo Grounds,New York City, Sunday May 30th 1937, and organised by the United States Football Association ( USFA)
