Does anybody know of/own any Chelsea youth programmes from the late 40s/50s (pre 1958), am trying to find one as my grandfather used to play in youth around then. Any help appreciated.

What was your Grandfathers name?

His name was Leslie Barnes, I think it was a Tudor rose programme, I believe it could be from anywhere between 1948-1954 thank you.

He does not appear in any of the lineups in any Chelsea Youth programme that I have between 1948 and 1956.

A helpful guy on a Chelsea site posted the following in reply to original question.

'I believe that I may have one of the most comprehensive records for Chelsea Youth, including when they were playing as Tudor Rose. Obtaining programmmes of these games is extremely hard. I have checked through all the inforation that I do have for the 1948/49 to 1954/55 season and I am sorry to say that I cannot trace a Leslie, or for that matter, any other Barnes appearing for Chelsea. Sorry. If anyone does come up with such a programme - and I hope they do - I would love to see a copy with the full line-up of both teams - scorers would, of course, be a bonus'
