I have a limited number of Cardiff Met v Cefn Druids from the infamous kit clash postponed game last weekend in the Cymru Premier League.
The cost is £4.50 including postage and 50% of the money will be donated to the Danny Gossett justgiving fund.
Please note a completely new programme will be issued for the replayed game.
For those who don't know, On the 16th of August 2019, Bala Town player Danny Gosset was given the devastating news that, what he initially thought was a typical football injury, was in fact a type of blood cancer known as Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
At the back end of last season, Danny started suffering from a dull ache in his left hip. In April 2019 he visited his GP and was referred for an x-ray at his local hospital, Ysbyty Gwynedd. The x-ray did not pick up anything unusual and was therefore referred back to his GP for further blood tests which also did not detect any unusual signs.
In July 2019 Danny was due back at his football club, Bala Town FC for pre-season training. The injury wasnt showing any sign of improvement and he was unable to participate in training and was therefore under the care of the club’s physiotherapist Fiona Evans.
Following a couple of sessions with the physio and the hip still painful and definitely not right, this prompted Fiona to make arrangements with the club to get Danny booked in for a private MRI scan which detected abnormalities within the femur.
Following the MRI results Danny was referred to the specialist bone unit at Gobowen, where further scans and a biopsy were taken. This resulted in the shock diagnosis of a B-Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is a type of blood cancer that develops when white blood cells called lymphocytes grow out of control. Lymphocytes are part of your immune system. They travel around your body in your lymphatic system, helping you fight infections. The cause is unknown.
Danny is currently going through chemotherapy in the hope that this will shrink the tumour, and this will then be followed by radiotherapy at the world-renowned Christie hospital in Manchester. |
