John McCormick RIP

[Pete’s Picture Palace]

An absolute Palace legend, a "craggy Scot" who was signed from Aberdeen for £1500 and played 225 games in all for Palace, about half in Division 1 when he'd give all the fancy-dan forwards a right old kicking.
And a lovely bloke who ran a pub in Glasgow for years after he packed up football. Now gone, aged 80.

He signed this photo for me about 10 years ago. He said "Did they score? I'm nay signing it if they did!". But they didn't (Jackson saved Best's shot) - so he did.

Thanks for letting me know about your tribute to John, totally agree with your comments a true gentleman off the pitch and hard as nails on the pitch, below my two contributions similar to yours.

Firstly a signed photo with a proper signature obtained at a 1969 team reunion in 2001

Secondly John jumping high above Denis Law in our first match in Division One
