Stockport County fair

One extra idea not mentioned above would be to incorporate a live auction into a fair. I was at Staceys's for part of the day yesterday and there was a good attendance in the room - perhaps combining events would encourage more through the door?

I think one practical issue with programme fairs (pretty sure this was mentioned by David Allen when we discussed this a couple of years ago) is that bringing and displaying a good selection of programmes involves a lot of heavy lifting - of course with cards, tickets, Corinthian figures and shirts that isn't such a problem

Finally - as mentioned above with QPR - the best way to advertise and build attendance is with the enthusiastic help of a club and by committing to it being an annual event

Good to see South London is getting a fair at Tooting & Mitcham this Sunday.

Always thought this part of London could host a successful fair. Hope it goes well.

With regards to fairs, I suppose it depends on your definition of a successful fair.

As organizer of the Sheffield Fair, I would say there are two stand-out area's to give your fair a good go.

Location: A cheap venue, within easy reach of many potential buyers. I.e A Large footballing City. I have been asked on a few occasions if I would organize one at non league grounds, while some of these are in attractive locations, unfortunately you're not going to get the footfall.

The Vendors: Just as important are the vendors, if not more so, You can help them and they can definately help you. Don't have too many, don't charge them too much, look after them and they will look after your fair.

back in the say when Ruth Crawshaw used to organise a fair in Bolton at the ground on the same day as the open day which did one year host Inter Milan in a pre-season game later in the afternoon and they were very well attended and one of the best around.
This was different to the fair she did at the College or Uni, cant remember the venue.
