Great photo of Mike Summerbee and Colin Bell in a cup tie at Cardiff - this was Feb 1967, 50 years ago, so haranguing the referee and a bit of dissent is nothing new in our game.

First post on FPC for 12 hours 44 minutes as I write........

Great fight at Wembley the other night Pete( won a few quid!).Have you got any photos of the real fight of the century, Francis Lee v Norman Hunter , The Baseball Ground ,1Nov 1975. Derby 3 v Leeds 2. Both sent off after a real punch-up.Lee needed stitches to his lip. Not condoning violence mind you, but watching it again on youtube it's quite comical! Failing that, have you got any pics of Willie Johnston kicking the ref up the arse, West Brom 0 v Brighton 2 , 22Sept 1976?

Sadly not FP, and if I did, I'd sell it within 5 minutes. That's the trouble with a press photo - once sold, it's gone forever. Unlike programmes.......

I remember the punch up between two Charlton players back in the seventies - all contained on here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/spo.....mates.html

Why do we need dissent on the fpc? Are you saying this to prepare the membership for the lifting of the ban for bazza & treble99? Sherlock

Didn't Frank Barson once go after the referee with a revolver in his hand after a match?

Possibly an apocryphal tale - but he was a hard bast*rd.

Surely someone has an image of Dave Mackay hold Billy Bremner by the scruff of the neck - An iconic image from the 70's - our younger members should try googling it.

After 12 hours 44 minutes of silence, it would be better than nothing.

As for the second option Get My Coat

GreatBarrWolf's mention of the Dave Mackay/ Billy Bremner photo is interesting. Mackay has picked up Billy by the scruff of the neck and is threatening to flatten him. l met Billy when he was doing the after dinner speaking circuit. This was just a few months before Billy died. .l had a copy of the infamous photo, which he signed for me. Billy was laughing his head off as he signed it .'.Was Dave the hardest player you ever came up against?', l asked the Leeds legend. He shook his head. Newcastle and Scotland star, Jimmy Scoular, was deemed by Billy to be the hardest of them all. He didn't think Ron 'chopper' Harris was that hard either. For Evertonians, Billy said that he came close to signing for Everton, just before Don Revie arrived at Leeds. If this deal had gone through , we would have had two fantastic redheads, Bremner and Alan Ball in the same line-up.l liked Billy a lot, particularly his closing message. He talked about the stupid parents and grandparents who stand on the touchline screaming abuse during children's football matches. 'Please let the kids enjoy the game', said the great man. l couldn't agree more

As I said at the time, I didn't agree with their banning and still think both should be given another chance.

The more diverse a forum, the better and more interesting it is, and these two had knowledge and wit in spades. Yes they could be incredibly blunt, but the biggest problem was a lot of folk simply didn't 'get' them.

Both are a big miss in my opinion.

One of those two was a perfect example of what physiological changes can occur to a person when a hobby becomes rather more than simply that, for whatever reason.

The other was a dealer who, latterly at least, got a bee in his bonnet about dealers not paying tax and let it take over his thinking.

I'd welcome both back for their knowledge - but I doubt either has the self-restraint not to think an invite to rejoin gives them carte blanche to carry on where they left off...

Put it to the vote, I suppose?

What utter rubbish.

This is my first post in a while.

Diverse? So you think being called a 'faggot' is diverse or simply being mis-understood? What utter bollocks.

Treble was, in the most part, ok. With a lot of knowledge, but needed to be a bit more accommodating to others.

Bazza, on the other hand, is one of the rudest and, in my opinion, a racist, having had pm's from him with his views. He has no cooncept of engaging politely with new comers or allowing others to hold views against his own. A vile person.

Sorry Paul, I really should have read all your PMs before writing that, just to check my facts like, but I couldn't remember where I'd left my crystal ball matey.

No problem with you having a different point of view, indeed it's welcomed, but I also find it pretty ironic that you call somebody "rude" whilst addressing my post as "utter rubbish" and "utter bollocks" and tearing into a bloke that has never been anything but pleasant to you on here.

No need for such vitriol, I was stating an opinion not robbing your house.

With regards to the two former members, neither should ever be welcomed back onto this forum otherwise many more will head in the opposite direction. We’re all aware of the disharmony they caused, and that is putting it politely.

I could go into more detail with my off the board dealings with one of them (as could a few others), and almost did a few months back by sharing an unsolicited email which involved him snooping around my social media accounts, but in the interests of not giving him attention or causing a drama on the forum, I didn’t. Screw loose doesn’t even cover half of it, he’s now blocked from various platforms.

Getting back to the point, if the forum is quiet for periods of time then so what, it’s natural. If there’s nothing to say then people don’t post. I was on holiday recently for near on 4 weeks, so obviously no posts from me during that time.
