Just saw today on the BBC website that John Phillips, former Chelsea & Wales keeper, sadly died on or around 1st April aged 65, no age at all.

Long-term understudy to Peter Bonetti at Chelsea but played over 120 games for them eventually, which is more than half his career total. He ended it at Palace but didn't play any first team games. Also won 4 caps for Wales, then as No 2 to Gary Sprake for a while.

This is him flat on his back for Chelsea at Luton in 1975, with Jimmy Husband exultant.

And here he is in a Palace keeper's shirt

RIP, John.
