Post subject: Mollucks Auction Packaging Service

Hi All

Have not bought from Mullocks for a while and won 3 lots at yesterdays sale. Called up today to pay, as you do.... and the postal service has changed and is now controlled by an outside packaging company. Has anybody had experience of using this service and are they reasonable pricewise. I have purchased about 600-700 1950s 60s so parcel should not be too big.

Many thanks
Martin

This week I have had a delivery from a well known outside packaging company. Item was very well packaged but £22.50 for a non insured single football programme is what I was charged.

I refuse to use their service. I have an agreement with them to post out my own postage to them and they will put it in the post to me. I have to sign a waiver saying that’s OK, cheaper and you do it as recorded delivery for extra security.

Why,.... is it too expensive? The company is called TWC Parcel Collection Services Ltd.

Has anyone used them before?

can you explain exactly what you mean by
"to post out my own postage to them and they will put it in the post to me"

You are saying they advise the cost of the postage and you pay it and they post it out for you?.

I can highly recommend Ipost which is run by UKMail. I have used them several times to collect auction items that I have won and their service has been fantastic! And no I don't work for them or have shares in them!! Very Happy

Prices are good but will the package as well, looks like they will only collect items that are already packed. Some auctions wont do that.

I asked for the weight of the programmes I bought, then posted out a package with postage paid appropriate for that weight. They then put the programmes in sealed and it arrived safely!

that is fine if you do not want the package to be sent by recorded or registered mail as they will not take it to the Post Office just have the packages collected from their offices. Otherwise it would defeat the whole purpose of them no longer wanting to become involved in not wishing to spend time and resources shipping items out.

I think for anyone who is not concerned about having their items tracked and insured then that method is fine and decent of Mullock's to do it.
But it will not suit anyone who has spent a decent amount and needs an insured/tracked service.

If you have paid for your items and requested them to ship it then i would be surprised why they have not contacted you, but the Auction was on Friday and that is only 2 working days since-perhaps if you have paid and you have not heard anything at all by say end of play on Thursday you can put on your obnail boots perhaps! Laughing
