I managed to win a charity auction for 4 hospitality tickets in an exec box in the North stand at old trafford for the game against Aston Villa.

It goes against my principles of modern football but sometimes principles are over-rated, it will be a new experience and they were such a bargain I couldnt resist. Laughing

I am taking my Girlfriend who, due to family associations (dad and ex husband), has been to more football matches than I have and has watched football from executive boxes loads of times.

Anyone had the experience of watching football in this sanitised way?

As I dont have an affinity with either club I dont think I will be overly loud/offensive but sometimes one does get caught up in the moment. I think there could be issues if I get the standard response to my answer if someone asks me who I support

Iv been in an Executive box at Old Trafford back in April this year. Was a good experience and you get a 3 course meal if my memory serves me correct. I watched Man Utd v Portsmouth 22.4.09 you get a good view and best of all i had a bet at half time for the full time score and scorers and won £110!

Executive boxes are the way forward, gone are the days of standing in the rain..............but at what cost.

Here at pompey we love our old beaten up stadium at fratton park, great atmosphere. No prawn sandwiches here.

The premier league hates us and won't be crying should we go down.

We won't be on the telly every week like Newcastle............ thats for sure.

I get an executive box at Forest once a season through the Supporters Club, it's average at best (although The Clough stand is somewhat outdated anyway), especially with the fact we are stuck in the very end one down by The Trent End, however, because it's full of our branch members (well 8 tops) it does make it a little more interesting.

This season we had the box v Newcastle, Franz Carr was the guest, and last season Bristol City (the missus went in and I sat with in my normal seat) and Steve Hodge was the guest - although he does do the corporate side at every home game anyway), we've also had it against Barnsley, Leeds, Doncaster and Huddersfield since our branched formed in 2005.

I prefer the stands everytime, but on the odd occasion I don't mind sitting in one just for something different.

We won a hospitality package for the Wales/Russia playoff game in 2003, I don't think it included food but plenty of drinks and luxury seats. Not that great to be honest but we did have another at the Liberty in our promotion season from League One which was better, included food, a quiz and we got to meet some of the players after the game. That wasn't a box though, just a hospitality thing and then they gave us some rubbish seats in the West stand. I'd definitely do it again if we could go back to our normal seats!

I've been in quite a few exec boxes, as my mate used to work for Scottish Courage, and clients would drop out at the last minute (I used to make them disappear!!)

Like somebody else has said, it makes a nice change once a year from sittingin the cheap seats, especially in December/January. The food and drink is good, but they pipe the crowd noise into most of the boxes, which is sh*t!

I remember being in a box at Bolton a few years back, and Forest scored. Everyone in our box started celebrating, as did the box next door (unbeknown to us, a building from Notts had hired the one next to us). The stewards came in and told us that if Forest scored again and we celebrated, we would all be thrown out!!

I wouldn't make a habit of it, but as a once in a blue moon opportunity, it makes a nice change.

Done it a few times as a mate of mines company used to sponsor the ball or programme and another pals company had its own ex box. In fact up until this season we used it for every reserve game!

Palace do an offer at christmas which worked out cheaper last year than going in the away end, made even better when they came round with free programmes! Luckly last season we stayed in Croydon for Christmas at my brother in laws and Norwich were at Palace on boxing day!
