Just moaning today about the continued decline in service from the Royal Mail and it reminded me of our Sunderland supporting angry postie, he's not posted - pardon the pun - for some time, anyone heard from him?

Well, it was only a CD and I don't want to make a fuss but.....a package arrived at my house yesterday from a friend in California.

Undamaged, addressed correctly etc etc.

But it had been posted in Santa Rosa on....Sept 18th 2006.

It's taken over 9 years to find its way here.

I'm baffled and, had I not opened it without realising it was so old, would have contacted not just the Royal Mail but also the local press! Now I have, of course, there's no proof.

My mate out there, who I contacted on Facebook to let him know, is as amazed as I am but remembers just thinking it had got lost in the post as I hadn't replied at the time.

Anyone any thoughts on what the heck could have happened here??
