Forced to retire aged only 25 he went on to work for the FA and FIFA after playing for Huddersfield, Bolton & England in a star-studded forward line.

And here he is playing and shooting for England v Argentina at Wembley in the Festival of Britain international (the 2 countries' first meeting) in 1951 - from my website.

Thanks Pete. Another interesting obit.

Not a name I am familiar with but he must have been highly thought of
to command a transfer fee of £27K in 1952.

I hope the wife's condition is improving. Best wishes.

H was one of the coaches at a F.A. training week-end i was on at Lilleshall late 60s recall him has a good coach and really knowing his football , was not aware of his career finishing has it did though very sad.
