I don't collect either but this season so far there have been 3 Rangers games in which no programme has been produced. I have a team sheet for one and a pirate for the other two. Is there anyone else does this? |

I dont buy pirates Eck , got no time for them !
Although I do have a few away ones from the UEFA cup run which my mates kindly brought me back , they had no idea they wete pirates !
Am I right in thinking the 3 friendlies this season with no programme are Elgin , Emenen and Guttersloh ? |

There were 2 versions of the 67 final and both are official. There is the Stadium issue which is the thinner paper and the other version with a picture of the cup on the front and glossier paper.
The Barcelona one that was available at the stadium and seemed to be the only official one was the Mediapunta one which was given away for free on a scale that meant it wouldn't be a pirate. There were two or three other pirates on sale in the city on the day of the game which looked very official but were pirates.
I only ever buy a pirate copy at a euro away that I am at where there is nothing official available and only as a souvenir of the game.
I have no interest in teamsheets unless that is all that is available at a game I'm at. |

I think the mediapunta issues that are available at games in Spain games are done by this website - http://www.mediapunta.es/ rather than being club issues. Barcelona don't appear to publish programmes, Real Madrid do but there is usually a mediapunta issue available at the European games as well as their club issue. I've also got mediapunta issues for games at Villarreal and Spainish national games, unsure if they're done for other clubs as well. |

Barcelona do issue programmes they are in newspaper format. I have visited Barca twice for La Liga games and on both occasions the newspapers were issued free of charge in the stadium. I have also seen issues for games other than the ones I was present at.
The media punta magazines are given out free in the vicinity of the stadiums but cover all matches on any given weekend. |

There was no newspaper programme of any kind for the Rangers game in the Champions league and the Mediapunta issued was dated the for the date of the match and was noted Europa Mediapunta. It was better than a lot of european away programmes I've seen at games.
Had there been any newspaper programmes the usual suspects outside Ibrox and on ebay would have had them on sale. They were selling the mediapunta one that was free at £7 a time along with a lot of other free programmes for euro aways before and since. |

You're lucky, been to Barca three times for a friendly, Copa Del Rey tie, and a Champion's League vs Shaktar Donetsk and found absolutely nothing. |

Liverpool have played at Barca 4 times and all images of programmes can be found on the excellent Lfcineurope.com website
I attended 3 of the games.
In 1975/6 an official programme was produced.
In 2000/11 A newspaper edition, official I presume published "el partit del Barca - These were available free outside the ground and was all that was issued
In 2001/2 There was nothing. The pain was they did do the same style newspaper for the previous weekends la liga match as they did the previous season, but never published this for the European Games.
In 2006/7 again, nothing official but the nearest was the Media Punto. This just featured the match and was issue 4 of the season - other 3 were the other CL matches. This was handed out free outside the stadium and is the best there was for the match. |

Pirate programmes.
Again many pirates/programmes can be seen on LFCINEUROPE.COM website.
As someone who has attended over 80 Liverpool matches in Europe and brought back issues for many of these, there is always a fine line. If you do not go, you can be choosy and pick the official version, or whatever.
However unless you have made a good contact at the club prior to travel its pretty much a stab in the dark so what do you do ?
You arrive at the airport or ground at lunchtime and there is a full colour/glossy pirate edition, 1,2 or more. Is this going to be the only thing issued or not? - do I buy or not?
You see a really good local paper with an 8/16 page pull out do I buy or not
You buy and then there is an official issue and know you are stuck with pirates, and newspapers but you don't buy and then there is no official issue. Then people will ask, have you anything at all
What if there is nothing, at all, no pirate, no programme
that's happened a few times, a paper is the nearest and over time these will become the collectable item.
I had a list of people who had a choice. Everything including all pirates, down to just official only and if not available nothing. Its all personal preference but If I had travelled away I would buy each and every item official or not as a souvenir of the trip.
Only thing is those pirates produced in UK and never left these shores. Only credibility can be when these are available in the match city for sale. |

They must only produce the newspapers for La Liga games now going on the above. I also managed to pick up colour press sheets from one of the VIP sections when doing the stadium tour the next day on both occasions.... |

Some pirate programmes are excellent and sometimes the only souviner available !
Its some places especially eastern europe that really rip the arse out it , you sometimes end up with about a dozen 4 page efforts and the content is crap
I remember back 2004 Rangers played Amika Wronki in Poland and you had your usual half dozen pirates .
A week later a pirate came on the market it was a 4 page coloured sheet of folded A4 paper , the front cover had a photo of Rangers centre forward Dado Prso getting tackeled by an Amika Wronki player !!!!!!!!!
Obviously printed after the game !!! |

On sheffield Wednesday's recent Portugal tour pirate programmes was produced for each of the two games the club played. I have included these in my collection but I have clearly stated above each that they are pirate.
The only official document produced was a b&w teamsheet for the Braga game and a colour teamsheet for the hull city match.
Does anyone else include pirate issues in there collection if they are the only "programme" to be on sale? |

What's a "pirate" and what's "unofficial"?
I always classed a pirate as something claiming to be official but isn't, and an unofficial programme being just that. _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |

The teamsheets was handed out at the ground by staff members pitchside and in the ticket office so in my eyes there official
The programme was produced by a Wednesday supporter. I'd class it as a pirate programme due to this matter and for the fact that it was sold around the square before the game althugh it has all the attributes of a matchday programme.
My motto is something is better than nothing and I always like to add something from a game if no programme was produced, even if it's a ticket or teamsheet.
When we played vv dovo in 2003 no official programme was produced but I did manage to get hold of a club brochure advertising the game and a ticket stub. But I wouldn't class this as a programme where as other Wednesday collectors have done so. |

No teamsheets were handed out , they had to be blagged from the mardy Portuguese press reporters or begged from the hole in the wall where you got your tickets .
The programmes were clearly marked souvenir ............ I know this cause I wrote them both , printed them and sold 95% of them myself in the ground .
For them to be pirates , surely they have to be a rip off of the official programme , which did not exist ?? |

I don't save teamsheets and thank goodness for that. There are a few that hand them out at Ibrox who are very dour and they lord it over you. I was going to get them for a Gers supporter in England but I refuse to suck up to these twats or let them keep me hanging around, especially when they are passing them out to others. |

That was my earlier point, your programme would be an unofficial/souvenir issue, not a pirate. _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |
