Went to the Cameo Auction on 13 Oct which included several "lots" of Headington home progs and they all went for way above their estimate e.g Lot No.600 v Bicester Town Oxon FA Senior Cup Final 10 April, 1939 - est £60 - £80 went for £470.
Lot No.609 1940's home progs v Banbury Spencer (FAC), Amersham Town and Slough Town (FAAC) 48/9 - est £50 - £60 - went for an astonishing £700 (most bidders dropped out at £100 but two others went head to head). Needless to say, I guess, but I did not come away with any Headington progs - though I did get a pre-war Spurs and Reading prog at reasonable price.

Headington Utd are right up there with Crittall Athletic, Bedford and Peterborough as the most desirable of post war non league clubs to collect...... I'm really not all that surprised by the prices reached as 40's items are not that common.

Headington United late 50s are in good supply and are sold fairly cheaply. It must be disheartening going to an auction and seeing stuff you would love going for crazy prices. I live in Headington and know a guy who has 1000s of Headington United programmes stuffed in the loft but he won't sell them even though he is not a collector. He's passion is badges... mad world.lol

I know the guy who paid £700 for the Headington programmes he is a collector of Headington and Oxford programmes. He is very keen on collecting FA Cup games.

I also know of the guy who he outbid who is also a collector of Headington & Oxford programmes, he uses Ebay a lot and very rarely gets outbid on programmes he wants.

That was won by the guy who lost out on those 3 Headington programmes.

He has outbid me on a few Oxforc programmes in the past even a Reading v Oxford friendly from 1963 single sheet sold for £150 and a week later from the same seller won another one for £130!

I hope he doesn't need Halifax v Oxford 63/64, haven't seen it listed for a while but need to replace mine which has team changes and a few other faults, i paid £80 for it about 3/4 years ago but not seen one anywhere since,
