Ok so this is a strange request and people maybe quite divided about it but its worth an ask,

Sheffield Utd play Exeter on May 5th for what maybe a promotion match if we dont mess it all up and as a Blade I and some friends have booked hotels and travel to go to the game.
Problem is that the club have only been given 1700 tickets and as an Blade living 160 miles from Sheffield I will not stand a chance of getting a ticket in the Utd end.

Long story short, loads of Blades then bought tickets in the home end but Exeter are now cancelling all tickets if the buyers were not on their database so I am assuming mine will go the same way.

I am desperately looking for someone on their database who maybe prepared to purchase tickets for me and my friends, it will be in the home and and I would love to be in the away end but anything is better than nothing just to be there.
My friends are the girlfriend, another couple and a mother and daughter so we are not a bunch of yobs we just want to go to the game Smile

The disappointing thing is that Exeter are likely to be down, the ground holds over 8000 and is likely to be half empty, its a difficult situation as if it was my club I dont suppose I would be happy if the opposition took all the seats but as its going to be half empty I am hoping someone would be happy to just get the money to their club.

Anyway thats the score and if anyone on Exeters database would be prepared to purchase tickets on my behalf I would be very grateful and would happily pay a premium for their trouble.

Thanks

Gordon

Best of luck Gordon,

I cant get any, for me and the little uns.

Stick with it, Exeter may reconsider if they are already down.

It could be like Darlington all over again

I hope you get sorted, I can't understand denying away fans extra tickets when a game is clearly not going to sell out. Friends of mine were in Manchester for a weekend last season and decided to take in a match on spec. Wigan v Everton was the only manageable that weekend so they turned up a couple of hours before kickoff but Wigan wouldn't sell them tickets. This is a very respectable looking guy and his girlfriend, clearly tourists, with Irish accents. Hardly marauding Evertonian hordes looking to infiltrate the Wigan home support and cause mayhem! Still when a club like Wigan makes X times more money from TV than from ticket sales why would you bother selling tickets! Mad

No Exeter fans on here either it seems, cant find any anywhere to be honest and thought after 30 years of watching footy I would have come across one or two !!

Will keep trying but not holding out much hope, it is so frustrating that the ground will be half empty and we still cant get any tickets just to watch the game, I will be there anyway as had to promise the girlfriend a weekend away in order to get a pass to the game but wont be great from outside the ground !!!

Sharrow, Darlington was just before my time but a repeat of Leicester would have been a wonderful day out !!

Is it worth giving the Exeter fans forum a shout.

Have tried the forum but there is a real debate as to if non Exeter fans should have tickets with arguments on getting the extra money or its our ground and sod the opposition so not the most friendly welcome there.

I can see both sides and if there was anything to play for and if the ground could fill with Exeter fans I could agree but the fact that there will be 3k empty seat seems a bid silly when there will be at least that many Utd fans outside !!

While we have a handfull of idiot fans as all clubs do the vast majority just want to be there and have a great day out and many are going ticket or not so seems mad to leave them all outside the ground.

You clearly have not followed Sheffield Utd as we have an alarming habit of messing things up when it comes to the big games Smile

Not sure even I saw us losing our top scorer to jail for 5 years as one of the ways we could make things difficult, this could have a huge effect on us if the other players cant respond positively.

Might not be a promotion party I'm after a ticket for after all Sad
