Everton v Blackburn - Bonfire night 1904 is my oldest. Very fragile, over 100 years old.

What did you pay for it ? £10,000 or £1.50p. I think this will give a good indication of its authenticity... Judge

I thought it was a wind up. You could have the real thing. Send it off to a Auction House for a valuation

An interesting topic. And interesting to hear how many of you have picked up bargains along the way.
My oldest programme is Arsenal v Middlesbrough, 22nd November 1930. I am limiting my Arsenal coleection to 1930-1953. Prices can get pretty high for earlier ones. 30-31 was the first championship year so this works quite well (52-53 was the 7th before an 18 year gap).
The oldest rugby programme I own is England v The Rest from 1st January 1927. Games versus the rest were essentially trials matches so are genearlly more affordable to pick up.

I was not aware that Peasley Cross once had a football team ,it is a Rugby League strong hold on the outskirts of St Helens and i lived there for five years 76 when i first got married about 100 years ago ? .

GW. Just out of interest. I mentioned a long time ago on here about a customer of mine that had a collection of Arsenal progs. Every home game from 1905 to 1930 (I think). Including cup semis ect. The berk had thrown them in the bin just a week before I worked in his house. I thought they would have been worth many £1000's. What do you reckon?

With respect it sounds like a cock and bull story. Why collect all those years then throw them in the bin. People tell you all sorts of stories when you tell them you collect programmes. A mate said he had a ancient programme which was his fathers and i could have it. I was all excited and when he brought it over, it was from 1974.

I would think that a collection like that would be worth well over
100,000 pounds. But I find it hard to believe somone would throw that away. Are you sure he wasn't winding you up?
