Two weeks ago I saw an excellent condition Aberdeen vs Spurs 1973-4 UEFA Cup programme, plus a Spurs pennant for the game. Programme itself is now easier to get hold of than it used to be, but I've sold one at auction for £30 last year. So it was some surprise that I got the two of them at the opening price of £4.99.
Three days ago I put another of the programmes on ebay, and it wasn't in anything as like the condition of the one that I just bought, and it went for £7.05. It's a strange, strange, world on ebay. |

Selling programmes on E-bay can be a chancey business. Sometimes those you think will definitely sell don't and those you think have no chance do.
I have been selling programmes for many years, mostly out of the 1000s of spare items I have accumulated over a lifetime of building up my Blackpool collection.
Some will probably never sell invidually but they will if bundled together.
However some that you have given up hope on after a few listings suddenly get an interest.
I had some 50s programmes up for sale without a sniff after a few listings and then suddenly 2 people are competing and they go for some ridiculous amount.
It's just the luck of the draw. Who happens to be watching at any one particular time. Serious collectors though will be regular watchers (I check E-bay daily to make sure I don't miss a Blackpool reserves or scarce friendly) but there must be lots out there who only dip in and out occasionally.
As you say John it's a strange, strange, world on ebay. |

That's not unusual. I often get watchers without bids until the last minute.
I also get watchers without any bids at all. I think the most was 15 watchers and not a single bid.
I watch stuff though with no intention of bidding to keep an eye on prices of scarce or unusual Blackpool programmes or to see who's buying what. |

Not unusual. I have often had items with several watchers even around 10 at times but the item still goes unsold. People sometimes add items to their watchlist out of curiosity to see the selling price or sometimes they might be interested but then it becomes a low priority because they have bought other stuff. |

Seller's name rings a bell. Can't just place him.
Pity he couldn't have included a scan though to save asking for one.
Postage is very reasonable. I wonder if that includes any recycling.
Nice one John

If you wanted to make some serious money buy John's and turn it in to this rare 1894-95 Newton Heath (Man Utd) v Man City programme.
