I notice if you have anything to sell you always want top whack for it.
Well im not giving them away thats a fair price for items 56 years old.
The trouble with this forum is there are too many freeloaders who would be better off sticking to collecting 1980s onwards and they would still want them for 50p each with free postage... Wave

I wouldn't need to pay £6 each for most 56/57 issues. Against Tottenham, Chelsea or Man Utd yes, but not those offered.

Fair enough, I suppose you have to take into account that programmes from 56/57 for a non-league club are a lot harder to get than a club the size of City. I stil find it hard to turn down anything on my wants list unless it is vastly overpriced

Bazzabaggies I do hope you mean your offer of £2 each is just for pre-2nd World War Cup Finals. pre-1st World War Cup Finals are surely worth at least £3 and even up tp £5 for any from the 1800s? If not, the deal is off.

Not really true that it is now Very Happy Shocked

As I recall you contacted me via PM offering me two Ipswich v City programmes from my 60’s away wants list for around £40 I think which I politely declined which was over a year ago Sherlock Sherlock Read It

Oh dear Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy ................I only collect Man City programmes as a hobby Bazza so I think you may have ‘noticed’ wrong as I don’t have anything to sell.

Nobody asked you to give your programmes away Mr T , You quoted a price to me which I replied was to expensive for me and I based that of the fact that I picked up in top condition 6 City home’s from the 56/57 season on eBay last week for between £1-£1.90 each......Not bad eh Cool Cool although I did pay £22 for the City v Utd 57/58 home which completed that season for me and £15 for Norwich v City 65/66 which was one from my wants list.

It’s a shame as you could get some real bargains on here and especially in bulk loads which is ideal when adding a new season to your collection but as this forum has grown its become full of so called dealers who will stop at nothing squeeze an extra 50p etc from a deal rather actually doing a deal and then cry wolf when they dont get what they want Ayatollah Ayatollah Driving Driving

Collecting City programmes is a hobby I enjoy doing and will do for many years to come but I can take it or leave when buying them for my collection and would rather wait to find one at a cheaper rate if I feel I’m being over priced, Although I’m no expert it’s just my opinion.

It’s not a money issue as I have plenty of it from the hard work I put into my business Smile but I do find highly amusing watching people on here throw their toys out of there prams over football programmes Bow Bow ,Maybe they need the money or maybe they just need to get out that little bit more Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

£15 for the Norwich 65/66 is a great price mate
Funny story here my mate is still after that one and before the QPR game he mentioned that he had put a bid in for that Norwich one at £13 and if was £11 at the time so he asked me to keep an eye out on it for him and if he gets outbid to go upto £20 (Should have done it for him there and then before the game!!)
Needless to say that after the events which happened on 13/05/12 i completely forgot about it and when i finally remembered and checked it sold for £15 luckilly he forgiven me for forgetting as i had a valid excuse Laughing
Didn't know it was you that won it though mate haha if id have remembered you may have paid more Laughing

I Paid £12.75 about a year or so ago for mine from Clive @ Classic Football Programmes

One sold on eBay a few months ago for £40+

There was a time when I would pay almost anything to fill gaps in the collection but that was before programmes became more widely available through e-bay.

A lot of dealers prices on e-bay are just ridiculous and it is a wonder they ever sell anything.

£6 for ordinary 56/7 programmes is a bit steep in this day and age although postage is free which is always a good selling point.

I would suggest you stick with it Mark, I am sure you can pick up those you want in time for between £2 to £3. There are so many bargains around at the moment.

I should know I have just sold 2 pre war Blackpool aways (admittedly against London clubs) but still only just made £80 for the pair. A few years ago this would have been double.

Hi Darren

It is becoming increasingly more difficult to put a price on anything these days.

I have had Blackpool stuff for sale on E-bay with absolutely no interest one week and then a couple of weeks later there are 2 bidders and an item sells for £20.

If I had a spare of the 62/3 Blackpool v Man City single sheet and I put it on E-bay starting at £0.99, I would expect to see at least £20 to £25 because I know there are a number of collectors after one. But it could sell for less if the collectors who want it are not around at the time such as away on holiday. Fortunately this should happen less often as more people have apps on their mobile.

If I had a spare and I was selling it outright I would probably ask around £30 although I might not be doing myself any favours.

FREELOADERS
£5.40 is a good price from a FULL TIME DEALER with four kids, big mortgage and an expensive wife to support.
Especially as i pay INCOME TAX and most of you on here should be declaring your income as well.
As for Man City mark if he tried to buy programmes off an old boy that had had them for 55 years he would send him off with a flea in his ear.
