eBay Payment

Advice please.

Unless stipulated otherwise exactly how long would you give a buyer to pay by Paypal after the eBay auction is over?

As it's summer and there's a chance the buyer is abroad I'd leave two and a half weeks at least

2 1/2 weeks - wow! I give my buyers five days then hit them with a non-paying bidder claim, this seems to make them jump into life!

I usually give them 7 days then send a reminder, if after 3 days from sending the reminder they still haven't paid I start a non-paying bidder alert and like Paulo says they seem to wake up then.

I sent a reminder out to someone who'd not paid for an item after 3 days, on Saturday. Payment was there yesterday. It's very often someone completely forgetting - never, ever, had a total non payer. If you stipulate payment after 3 days, and haven't received it, send them a reminder. If you don't get it in a further 2 days, take out a claim via ebay for payment. As others have said, this usually spurs them into action as most folk are loath to get negative feedback nowadays.
I've also been contacted in the past by people asking if they can pay after a few days as they're awaiting money coming into their own Paypal account. Don't have nay problem at all with that as long as they've made contact - and it's usually the lack of communication that leads to the uncertainty.

depends on the amount, if it is less than a tenner I don't worry too much, they will pay eventually - if not - they don't get the goods
