Yesterdays clash at Hull with visitors QPR never got above the mundane until just beore halftime when panto season started. Having not got a free kick Taarbrat, captain, removed a glove in a petulant manner and proceed to sulk infront of us highly amused city fans. Rangers then received a freekick which the erant moroccan insisted on taking and blasting wide. By now he was been greeted with 'weres your dummy gone' and Derrys attempt to calm him was greeted with indignance. With the home fans enjoying every minute of his obvious displeasure, Taarbrat did the arm gesture for substitution and proceeded to sulk toward the bench taking no part in the game. This resulted in ' he wants to go home he wants to go home how shit must he be he wants to go home' On arrival to the touchline the thought of Neil Warnocks wrath must of presuaded him to remain on the pitch til halftime. of course the barracking continued from all home sides of the ground and to our suprise he returned after the break. More sympathy of the same was dished out with most of the crowd repeating his substitution gesture. Never in forty years have i seen a player never mind a captain react in such a manner. Has anyone else ?

He did the exact same thing against us last season at loftus road- signalled to be taken off, just sulking like a little kid....

Taarbrat was saying the other day that manure were interested in signing him -fergie would probably chuck two boots at him if he played up.!!

This lad is at the perfect club for him, with Warnock as his manager. In Warnock's eyes, I bet he never fouls anybody, and his farts dont stink. One of the mardiest footballers I've ever seen, managed by one of the mardiest managers I've ever seen.

Thei runaway lead is starting to vanish too!

Now Now boys, you're sounding jealous.

Taarabt, maybe moody, but he's been one of the, if not the stand out player in the Championship this season.

Mardy? You appear to have forgotten Stan The Man.

And Matt, well you've got Bellamy!

And none of them can hold a candle to Diouf at Blackburn!

Laughing Warnock....Mardy? Another popular misconception.

Go on give us an example.

I dont think how mardy other players are makes Tarabt any less mardy?

I disagree about him being THE standout player in the Championship, because he does have moments of brilliance, but he is not consistent. Other posters have mentioned it, if things arent going his way, he throws his toys out of his pram, sulks, and goes missing.

I'm certainly not jealous, as I prefer players that put it in for 90 minutes, week in week out. I don't deny he has talent, but non league football is full of players with talent, but they lack application and consistency. If he was so good, no direspect to QPR or any other Championship club, he wouldnt be playing at that level.

Maybe the word Mardy is the wrong choice for Mr Warnock, one of the most loved managers in the Championship, but I cant print what I think he is. Examples? Any game he's involved in, particularly the Blades game against West Brom a few years back, when players started to mysterioulsy fall down without contact, in an attempt to have the game cancelled. I dont particularly like Megson, but I sympathised with him that day!

No it doesn't..its just my reply to your reply to the original question.

Fair enough, but QPR are top, and he's central to that.

Charlie Adam, Andy Carroll, Kevin Nolan and many more were in the championship last season, are you suggesting that they weren't good enough to be of premier league standard?

Laughing You're making him out to be the anti-christ. Any Game he's involved in? No room for give and take there then. As a manager, he encapsulates everything you confess you prefer in a player, passion, effort and pride.

The 'Battle of Bramall Lane' is a poor example, Players mysteriously falling down with injury, in an attempt to have the game cancelled, highlights a huge ignorance, common amongst football supporters (especially Warnock haters), of the events that afternoon. Our keeper had already been sent off early in the first half for deliberate handball outside the area, if it been a pint he would have caught it. If Warnock did make a mistake that afternoon, it was sending on Santos and his sidekick suffo in the second half. It only took seconds for retribution to be inflicted on Andy Johnson, who had broken Santos's cheekbone the year before. Suffo then lost the plot and nutted McInnes. An error of judgement on the manager's behalf, yes probably, mardy...don't think so. Michael Brown, then came off with 10 minutes to go. Subsequently, he doesn't play a part in any of United's remaining eight games that season and has an operation three days later. Rob Ullathorne, then goes down three minutes later and can barely walk, and subsequently does not play again that season. Afterwards, Warnock didn't disagree with any of the decisions, and was thoroughly calm and dignified, agreed that WBA should get the points, that was never an issue and the club transfer listed Santos and Suffo, who never played for us again.

The mardiness, and vittrol and accusations came from the 'ginger pig'. The same manager who recently turned down the chance to manage Ipswich because he wanted a million, instead of 400000 a year. Tell me again, who's the mardy one?

But its not really a reply, its more a deflection from the fact that he IS one of the most mardy players that most Championship fans have seen for a long time.

Yes QPR are top at the moment, and he is one of their players, but you cant surely be suggesting that he is the only reason they are top?

No, I'm not, but two out of the 3 are older players who have already played at that level and are this proven, Carroll is younger and therefore was less of a known quantity. Tarabt although younger, has already played at that level and been let go. I am therefore suggesting that it is possible that he is not good enough for that standard. I also think that he prefers to be the big fish in a little pond.

[b] As I initially said, Mardy is probably not a suitable word for Warnock, and all us 'Warnock haters' could think of much more suitable ones. However, as we are all 'Warnock haters,' you are clearly a 'Warnock lover,' so every comment I make about Warnock will be met with an opposite, so we will always have a difference of opinions on the man.

More on topic of the thread, here is a little quote from the London Evening Standard yesterday:
'How much longer can Queens Park Rangers boss Neil Warnock indulge his prince of petulance, Adel Taarabt?

Words like toys, pram, dummy were all appropriate on Saturday when the captain made it plain he'd had enough before half-time at Hull and wanted to come off, though uninjured.

Compare such histrionics to previous Rangers captain Martin Rowlands, who has battled back from two cruciate ligament operations but is simply not in Warnock's good books.'

I think one word to sum up Warnock is 'tool', however he is a great manager and knows the championship inside out.

Agreed. As much as it pains me as a Forest fan to say it, he might be a pr*ck, but he does know his job. To me though, he's a spin off of Fergie, the type of manager who looks to wind opposition players and officials up. Some people like that, personally I dont.

I'm not denying it, he is, but sometimes in football, especially gifted young footballers, you have to take the bitter with the smooth. Whether he's Captain material, that's open to debate and the answer is probably not.

Not at all, wouldn't dream of it, success this season has been built on the strength of the defence, (Paddy, Clint Hill, Gorkss, etc etc), but Taarabt is the driving force, the central cog of the team, and to suggest otherwise would be just plain daft.

Perhaps the big fish just wanted to play rather than sit on the Spurs bench or in the reserves.
As for not being good enough, if Wayne Bridge and Shaun Shite Phillips are premier league standard, then I think we'd need to say no more on that topic.

He'll indulge his Prince of Petulance as he sees fit, like Ferguson with Rooney, and before that Ronaldo.
As many, QPR fans have testified this season he's a flawed genius, but he's our flawed genius'. 'he's making Rangers entertaining to watch'. (and that includes throwing the dolls out of the pram)

Football....Entertaining....how dare he perpetrate such a heinous crime. No

If he is the central driving force, which he wasnt against us, then he needs to be more committed to the team, not just to himself.

I dont deny he's entertaining, but I wouldnt want a footballer at my club entertaining me by sulking. I think the boy needs to do a bit more of his talking on the pitch with his feet, and then perhaps he'll earn himself a place in the Prem, where his temperament is better suited, either with the Hoops, or the Great Man Utd.

Charlie Adam is only 24 and has never played in the EPL before this season.

He has played in the SPL but that doesn't really count. Laughing
