I have around 500 programs from 1947 through to 1968 various cup final, internationals, league and non league. what would be the best way to get these valued and whats the best way to sell?

1. Take them to an auction house, but you'll have to pay commission.

2. list them on ebay. You'll get there true value, but time consuming.

3. List them on here for all to have a look at. Help a few collectors out and get some money to boot.

4. Wait for the flood of pm's on here

Would be handy to know where you are in the country to direct you to which auction house or which dealer/collector on here.

many thanks for your help, im based near gillingham in kent. had the lot valued by sotherbys in 2000 and they gave a guide price of £1,500 - £1,750. I had 2 dealers contact me today after i sent the list off to them one offered £1,500 cash, the other offered £225.....he said i may be able to push £300 on ebay!

Be interesting just to see the list on here and get peoples opinions on price. There's no obligation to sell.

I'd be interested in anything South Yorkshire based.

Sheffield Wednesday, Sheff utd, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster.

Suppose it depends what the bulk of the collection is made up of, by which I mean a southern club bias, or just a "general" collection.

i have them on an excel sheet, im not sure the mod would like me pasting 500 entries in! lol. I do have programmes for the teams you mentioned from late 40's through to early 60's, as you mentioned they are heavily weighted to southern teams
