Some time ago i bought a programme from ebay described only as good condition. I paid £34. When it arrived , the outer cover was detached from the programme , it had a rusty staple and team changes. As i was glad to have it, i didn't complain. Since i came across a better issue , i resold the original on ebay. I described it fully and got £17. I feel a bit of a mug, is honesty the best policy? |

Honesty is defiantly the best policy as since were all collectors we wouldn't be happy to receive an item described incorrectly. However when you did get the item not in the condition you wanted you should have tried asking for a partial refund or threatened to return the item. |

To be honest a lot of programmes i buy off ebay are not as good as thay say they are. I tend now to avoid programmes with descriptions such as , good for age. I want detail. Without good detail i no longer buy. |

I always try to be honest in descriptions I very rarely describe a prog as mint. I think its fair on the buyer to give as much as a detailed description as possible with faults listed especially if people are going to pay decent money for it.
Problem with descriptions is what one seller describes as good might be only fair to another.
Some of the worst sellers are those who are selling progs and are not collectors so do not know what is what.
Another trend that seems to be creeping in is people describing progs as very old / rare, when they are from the 1970's, I know you can get rare progs from the 70's but there are not that many. |
