Ron Yeats RlP

Sad to hear about the death of Ron Yeats. As we all know , he was a key figure in Liverpool FC’s history. I remember him well from his time as player/ manager at Tranmere Rovers. A little story about him. At the primary school l went to, we were taken for a day out to Belle Vue Amusement Park, Manchester. It was probably 1961. As we scattered about the place a group of us walked past this giant of a man, who had a LFC blazer on. He was pushing a baby in a pram. It was Liverpool’s new signing Ron Yeats having a day out. I remember he signed autographs for all the kids who wanted one, even though most of us told him we supported Everton. Funny the things you remember

Here's Ron with kids and Ian St John not long after you met him, Pie. 1964 in fact. Not sure if those are his & Saint's kids or a random Xmas party or whatever.

RIP big fella. A gentle giant if ever there was one.
