Thought you might like to see another Ipswich Cricket match. This time Essex v Ipswich in 1976 played at Portman Road. The programme is unusual because it is a single sheet large card bigger than the paper used for the reserve games at the time. Also not sure why Ipswich are the away side? Is it rare or have others survived without scores being recorded?
Unlike the RAFA game at the GRE sports club the fans were up in the Cobbold stand so no autographs to collect.

If it is on card and not paper it may well have been printed by Essex CCC.
In days gone by, scorecards were fairly standard, printed on card and printed at the ground at various times of the day to keep anyone walking in up to date.
However the top of the card, printed were the sponsors of the format, Sundays was the John Player, Schweppes I think at one stage did the county championship, Natwest, B&H etc, the bottom and back of the card were used by local firms in an advertising format. If this was a friendly match then no need to use unless sponsored those parts of the card |

Hi I have put the Essex v Ipswich programme up on Ebay. It is under 1970's friendlies if anyone is interested in owning the programme. There are some more photographs zooming in on the teams which include some great players on both sides. Regards Derek |
