Anyone got any ideas on these 3 please, or the ground with a low white wall running along behind the goal? Or the pooch? An unused postcard with the usual postal stuff on the back but no information, no printer or location.

All help greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Sherlock

I shall not lower myself to the Barking and Bedlington Terriers comments but judging by the style of dress, I'd suggest it is probably pre-WW1.

The terracing looks weird - seems like the background has been photoshopped out but obviously not.

No, it's a low white retaining wall, and then open-topped terracing behind with a few visible crash barriers. You could be right about pre-WW1 as it came with an early 1900's action postcard.

Cheers!

Pete, the terracing behind - and the white wall encasing it - reminds me in Cliftonhill, home of Albion Rovers, which Rovers first used in 1919.

Back when the whole ground was open and not just the main stand as now.

OK, maybe one of the legion of Albion Rovers fans who log on to FPC every day can verify that.

Ever the optimist.

Thanks Derby1884.

I'm sure the team that plays there must Winalot.

As for the three chaps, I think they might be Alan Ruff, Doggie Freedman and Jimmy Bone.

Thumbs Up

We must be close to a full team now....

Charlie Spaniel of Bournemouth
Les Cocker as trainer
Terrier Gibson( Cooper Paine etc etc)

Although I hope Pete is going to forgive the hijacking of his thread

This site really has gone to the Dogs

Peter

Following on from the Albion Rovers suggestion, the "wee Rovers" reached the Scottish Cup Final in 1920 for the only time in their history. Could the photo be linked to that?
