If this is the future for the senior team......god help us.

Just think what these player are worth ........mainly premiership players..

Just shows that.......best league in the world sounds hollow....

Let hope they improve in the next 2 games.

One of the centre backs in the team Liam Moore plays for my club Leicester City a lot of LCFC fans had high hopes for him but frankly he has struggled in the Premiership and has played very few games at the top level, but has found the jump up from the Championship too much. Stiil we could be like Scotland and not qualify

In very simple terms they are just not good enough.

It would have been nice to sit and watch the U21 tournament - the future kids of Englands senior side, but it didn't appear anywhere on my tv - maybe it was on sky, i have no idea.


However I will be able to view the Ladies World Cup knockout stages.

It was on BT/Virgin.......but you didn,t miss anything.

What I can,t understand is that they are champions at 17 but by the time they reach 21 or the seniors they fail.....every time !!

Grass roots coaches are not good enough (many many reasons) and there'e not enough of them who are 'qualified'.
Don;t get me wrong, they have passion and can run an under 15s side to a national cup but that is light years away from becoming an international pathway (as seen this week against average european sides).

at u8s to u18s English players can get away with not being technically gifted or lack of 'proper' coaching.
u21s and national team quality are playing much much better opposition who have been schooled / coached differently (and IMO better overseas coaching techniques that the English big lad upfront, triangle passing, etc etc).
England are way way off being a top 8 international side (except the ladies of course).

ridiculous media hype and wages means the players and their 'advisors' can come out with usual banal comments and look forward to £50k for 5 appearance or going out on loan.

A British team is needed as it's the only way we might get to another last 4 at a major tournament in my lifetime!!!
...but would that mean 3 less votes at FIFA and UEFA? probably, but so what?
1 vote or 4 votes, the 4 home nations are not going to win Euro 2016 IF they all qualify or set Russia 2018, Qatar 2022 alight.

Had to laugh at the Italians moaning about the other game being a stitch-up and ending in a 1-1 draw.

We older Derby fans remember how Juventus cheated us out of the European Cup Final back in 1973!
