The biggest programme fair of the year takes place on Saturday 6th June 2015 when the annual Premier Programme Fair is staged at London’s Royal National Hotel, Bedford Way WC1H 0DG 11am – 4pm.

Since the event moved the Royal National in 2010 the attendance has been a consistent 700/750 collectors which is by far the biggest fair attendance in the UK. The number of dealers exhibiting is also the biggest assembled this year. I would urge all forum members to make the effort to come along.

As well as adding to your collection and chatting/putting faces to the names of the dealers, the fair represents an excellent opportunity to meet fellow collectors and forum members for a chat/swop/drink etc… The hotel has a bar and there are numerous restaurants in the vicinity and at the nearby Euston/Kings Cross stations. How about forum members arranging a meeting at the fair?

I have listed the participating dealers so far below (in no particular order) with a brief stock summary. I have also included their business email addresses should anyone wish to make contact for particular requests.

DGS Programmes – David Simon presents a huge stock of vintage programmes beautifully presented in his custom made binders. [email protected]

Chelmer Programmes – Stockists of a wide variety of programmes. Particularly strong in East Anglia and Non League issues. [email protected]

D G Taylor – Lymington based Dorian is one of the few remaining ‘hard copy catalogue producing’ dealers in the business. Fine stock of vintage programmes covering all clubs though QPR, Bournemouth and Accrington Stanley a speciality! [email protected]

Steve Harding – Prominent Peterborough United collector and part-time dealer. Poshimp72 on the forum.

Michael Wylde – Long established collector / dealer from the West Midlands.

PM Publications – Founding Programme Monthly editor and co-organiser of this event John Litster offers his vast array of PM back issues. Stockist of bespoke programme binders, football history books and a selection of programmes from his huge archive. [email protected]

Soccer History – Editor Ian Nannestad offers the latest edition and also back issues of this high quality quarterly magazine devoted to the heritage of our national sport. [email protected]

Programme Monthly - Co-editors Paul and Kevin meet and greet the loyal band of readers of the World's greatest 'football programme magazine’ Pick up the latest issue and meet them in person. [email protected]

Tom Roe – Fine selection of antique football memorabilia with a strong North-West bias. [email protected]

Mick & Alex Hewitt – Yorkshire’s largest dealers, huge selection of programmes with a particular emphasis on Leeds United. [email protected]

Terry’s badges – One of the UK’s leading football badge specialists. [email protected]

Pick up your copies of all the end of season big match finals and Internationals and view our fine range of vintage programmes. Show specials include over 1,000 excellent condition 1960s programmes available at £2 each, over 500 European Competition programmes same condition, same price. Books, magazines, badges, bargain bundles, Non League… Something for everyone at this stand! Check out www.footballprogrammes.com and email any requirements for collection at the fair to [email protected]

Colin Boulter – East Midlands based Colin has been involved in football programmes for well over 40 years now. Great stock boxes of all the London clubs and bargain bundles a particular strength. NO Email address

Barry Swash – West Midlands based Barry offers a wide array of vintage programmes and memorabilia from pre war to the 1960’s. [email protected]

AB Programmes – Ipswich Town scout Alan is a veteran fair attendee. Alan is a regular face on the auction scene too. Varied stock with Ipswich a particular speciality. [email protected]

Ellis Programmes – Romford based Ellis has had a stall at West Ham United and Romford market for many years. Stockist of all London clubs and big match programmes. [email protected]

Martin Scott – Specialist in all types of football memorabilia. Regular England away followers will have no doubt bumped into Martin selling his badges from far flung places such as Kazakhstan to Montenegro! [email protected]

Richard Posford – Keen Essex based Man Utd fan Richard has a huge stock of programmes with, you’ve guessed it, a heavy United bias! [email protected]

Steve Smyth – Steve has stalls at both Arsenal and Chelsea FC. Comprehensive stocks of both clubs from pre-war to the current season. [email protected]

Bill Priddy - Stockist of various football memorabilia items. [email protected]

Spurs Collectables - Spurs specialist Trevor Jones presents a huge array of Tottenham Home and away programmes plus other Spurs memorabilia from Pre-war to date. [email protected]

Westward Progs - Gordon Bennett has been trading as Westward Programmes since September 2012. He makes the long trip up from Devon to regularly attend fairs all over the UK. [email protected]

Due to the retirement from the major London fairs' scene of a couple of dealers, an untimely illness and an impending operation for two others, stalls have become available for this year's Premier Programme fair on 6th June.
Should any forum members (established dealers, part-time dealers or collectors with surplus items) be interested in exhibiting please drop me a PM for further details. Stall prices start at £65.

It certainly looks a great event, never been but if the New Year one is anything to go by - which I’ve managed a couple of times when in London - it’s a good way to spend a few hours.

Sadly though, as ever, there is actually very little to attract Scottish collectors or to tempt anyone to make the journey.

Personally I'm really gutted that Ian Hands and John Dee won't be stalling at this fair. Both always have a varied and reasonably priced stock and will be sadly missed.

Its hard to predict the stock of so many dealers. However, a few of the more pro-active forum members always email all the dealers asking them to bring their particular interests. Why not do similarly Tynie? Even if there is little or nothing of interest its always a great opportunity to mix with fellow minded people and enjoy a great day out. I hope you can make it one day.

Both were invited as usual but chose not to exhibit at the Country's biggest event . However, with the huge array of different stallholders in attendance, as my colleague Bazzabaggies suggests you should find items of interest.

Why not take the opportunity of emailing all the dealers asking them to bring along your particular interests? I hope you have an enjoyable and fruitful day.

This will be the third year I have had a stall at the Premier Fair - it is by far the biggest and best-attended fair in the country - well worth a visit!
Two collectors living in Plymouth always travel up on the train to attend - it's the only fair they go to these days - and they're coming again on Saturday.
On both my previous years as a stall-holder I've had collectors reach my stall and exclaim: 'If only I had known these programmes were available at these prices, I would not have paid what I did for them at the stalls near the main entrance.'
Lesson to be learned: Don't rush into making a purchase, check out the various dealers as good quality programmes will probably be found at other stalls if you spend time searching them out! That's one of the advantages of attending major fairs like this one!
Although John Dee and Ian Hands, regrettably, will not be present, there are plenty of other stall-holders who offer a wide range of programmes at reasonable prices!
