Another one of these tickets appeared on ebay in 2014 and sold for under £100.00.

In the 1990's 2 or 3 tickets from this same match were sold at the Vennett-Smith auctions at Trent Bridge.

The Everton ticket currently on ebay has certainly been on an auction catalogue in the last few months.

Tripe of the utmost rarity and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to read such staggering tripe that must surely be one of the oldest piece's (sic) of tripe ever offered for auction, what's more it's tripe offered with no reserve at just 99p to start. This tripe has a 100% EBay rating.

How to make a superb item into something totally dull and uninteresting. Such a shame.

The seller says he has had "massive offers" for the ticket but then chooses to list it at 99p. Very strange.

I am surprised the ebay ticket seller has not as a member of this forum been on to rebuff some of the claims made already regarding his modus operandi, still plenty of time i suppose-tin hats on for all those who have!

I am pretty certain this was the ticket that was in robert adcock's auction last month.

From memory a number of these came onto the market about 5 years ago after they were found during a pub renovation. Although still will fetch a few hundred they are not as rare as you would think for an 1890 ticket.

I am constantly amused by this seller, all items originate at auction, most of them when put on ebay fetch less than the auction price plus commission.

Hi Leslie, just out of interest, where do you stand on his modus operandi?

For what it's worth, I reckon it's just one way of doing things and if the guy has enough time and money on his hands to challenge himself to make a profit each time, then fair play.

The descriptions are a source of amusement, to be honest, but at least he makes the effort - so many don't. And in general the items are good quality. It also gives punters the chance to take their time to bid instead of succumbing to the urgency of an auction-house bidding system.

In one sense this is why the reappearance of auction items on eBay (or previously badly-described items) is a good thing for collectors - it also potentially rewards initiative which surely we can all agree is one advantage of our capitalist society.

And that means they are always "sold" to his whipping boy l---h (293) ie they remain unsold with more commission paid to Ebay making his original purchase even more expensive. No commercial nous methinks.

Look let's get all the facts right

Chris, the seller, has been on here before to explain everything.
He is not a collector of these items nor is he a dealer
He just does this spare time to add a little extra food to the table so as such he doesn't class himself as a dealer
He does not run up the items either
It is total coincidence that one bidder likes 72% of the items that are so stupendously rare that he is "proud to offer on this one off opportunity etc etc etc etc etc etc"

Personally i used to get the needle but i don't any more
He used to pick brains, mine included(that's not hard though!!!) to find out prices and then bid online at ALL the auction houses
He has had a few setbacks as he surely would have with limited knowledge once people stopped feeding him accurate information
Some of the big tickets items have taken a lot of sweating and bullshiiting to make £50 on a £2k item
It's the fees at both ends that screw him up
Auction fees to buy plus ebay and paypal fees to sell take a third out of the deal
He is a dream to ALL the auction houses
He is also the original, imo.bedroom bandit as he doesn't go to auctions nor does he go to fairs

He is now clued up on pre war cup final prices and has branched off into Beatles ephemera

He is harmless enough unless off course you believe you have found something you want and suspect that nobody else has seen it only to find out that you lose out but see it a month later on ebay with all the "proud to offer bollocks"

As i am sure he will see this thread i think he will need a new whipping boy now to run up the items he doesn't run up cough cough
Honestly!!!

Now then boys,I think we have been here before haven't we?

Yes that fella(ebay name 90lh) still bids on each and every item I put on and has done religously over the last three or four years whether it's football programmes, records you name it,in fact if I put a pair of the mother in law's knickers on there I'm sure he would have a pop at them.

He bids up in whatever the smallest increments are and can bid 20-30 times on a single item.

Using this method has only ever won him a couple of items and got me accused repeatedly on here of schill bidding and I'm pretty sure some of the scumbags on here have reported me to Ebay also at one time or another.

right onto individuals,Leslie I can't take you seriously at all pal,you come on here acting like Billy big Balls looking down on just about everybody else, get a grip you bellend.

Raymond I have no problem with you and as requested by you in the past now leave the United stuff alone so it is dissapointing to see you having a go.

And as for you posh should'nt you be at a Unite against Facism rally or something you old liberal limpwrist.

Chow for now Chaps Cool
