If you ever wanted conclusive proof of shill bidding then this is it.

Starting Price : £0.93

Current Price: £14.69

Bids: 68 Yes that's right 68.

Private auction but you don't have to see who's bidding, its pretty obvious that 99% of the bids are all coming from the same source. Just keep edging the price in small increases. Many bids just 30 seconds apart. It's Classic shill bidding pattern.

It's so blatant, but it seems he is one of the untouchables.

Notice how many consecutive bids were made on the item at approx 12.30 today. Then compare it with these items he has for sale and notice the bids made around 12.30 yesterday.

Obviously around 12.30 is a popular time for bidding on his items.

Ridiculously obvious shill bidding here, Sign in here anybody who is willing to report him, and we will all agree a time and date to do it so Ebay gets simultaneous complaints.

I have reported him many times and nothing happens.
Happy to give it another go though.

The guy is a menace.

When he first came to light , i'm sure he came on this forum to defend himself. But since the mention of shill bidding ( which is illegal ) he has disappeared. No doubt he still reads this forum. If so,why not come on and defend yourself again?

I've reported him a number of times for breaching listing policy as well as probable shill bidding, but I haven't heard back from ebay once, except for them sending me a questionnaire asking how they dealt with my complaint. Obviously they're making a bit of money from him so they're happy to let him do whatever he wants.

They are all private listings as well, which i think ebay should abolish as it makes shill bidding much much easier for people like manori to do.

Time i popped up to say something if i may, he is a nuisance as he ends up in everyone's searches-but as much as i cannot stick it he is marketing well. The ridiculous long winded drivel he includes on every auction makes you want to smash his face against a brick wall! he is playing on the mega new punters with the rarity of having some disposal income and F.all knowledge!!.
I wrote to him some months ago and i asked him if he had anything of interest coming up-he wrote back and told me about a particular programme that he wanted £70 for, he sent to me an image and i wrote back is it available now or ebay-he said now so i said i will take it, but then he said it was somewhere else and he had to find it and he would let me know. Couple of weeks later it appears on ebay-i write to him and say why did you not advise me when you "found it" so he lied and said he sent me an email a week ago b4 he put it on! The other week i saw one of his ads for cigarette cards marked RARE 1958 Busby Babes Cards, I sent him an email suggesting to him that these cards were not from 1958 and that he should state this on his auction page-I got no reply but noticed a day or so later he had included at the bottom of the auction page a request from some one asking the same question and he had written back saying they were produced in 2003-but the odd thing was Manori's name is Chris and he has wriitten or had someone write him the question and signed it Chris!, and guess what those cards sold for £46 and guess what-ANOTHER set appeared equally as MEGA RARE as the last lot from last week-how strange, maybe a shill bid too far the previous week!, I think they are still on. I also made a bid for an item last week and didnt get it, was outbid at the death by a quid and it went for £33 and so far it has not appeared again. Has anyone spotted other gems that have re-appeared he has offered?. It is not that we are all obsessed with him but he infiltrates more or less everyones' interests but it is the unadulterated shit that he writes that gets up my nose, George Bests first game, or his first game after poking Miss World, or his first game after poking 2 Miss worlds at half time, or Bobby Charltons first match after having his first pint, Denis Laws first match after taking off Christmas for the 4th consecutive Winter, and so on. The private listing is the greatest invention for all those wide boy, con artists, tossers, rip off merchants and flies in the face of everything ebay allegedly stands for-fair play my arse!. If you write to ebay to complainyou will get some standard note from one of their nerds always saying no fault found no matter how blatant they are, there are some peoples feedbacks that are 50% between themselves, and the ones that are not theirs could be associated with them under different names and the only way it seems you get canned is to commit actual outright unadulerated theft by retaining cash and sending nothing, you can shill bid, you can scam postal rates, you can give descriptions made up in your sleep, like the Beer ads if ebay did murder they could get away with that as well!! hahaaha all this over a few bits of paper-still I can get back to the printing press got some cracking 50 sov notes coming out next week! Terra for now Wave

I have complained to EBay about a trader selling a pennant allegedly commemorating the 1967/68 Inter Cities Fairs Cup Final - Leeds Utd vs Dynamo Zagreb. The Leeds badge used was the Leeds shirt badge first used in 1981!! The pennant is obviously a 'fake' and definitely not from 1968. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayI.....500wt_1154
Ebay were/are just not interested.

The recent court case involving an EBay trader who was convicted of shill
bidding, see http://www.out-law.com/page-1120 was brought by Trading Standards. If enough people lodge a complaint with Derbyshire Trading Standards they may well take the case on for investigation.

Derbyshire Trading Standards can be contacted at: http://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/business/trading_standards/

Waste of time reporting him to eBay - I have reported him over 10 times.

Either trading standards or the police is who you need to contact.

Strangely, I had a similar instance with someone else on Sunday.

I bid a good price on a rare prog and won it. I also bid on another item the seller had, all were on private listings, but lost out after forcing the bidding up to about £13. Within an hour I had a second chance offer on the prog, as apparently there was another one available. As the prog in question was indeed hard to find and in poor condition, I would assume the seller was very lucky in acquiring two of these.

Needless to say I declined, mainly due to the condition, but also felt agrieved that on the one I won I had probably been the victim of shill bidding to force the price up, but bid so high I'd won. I'm still not very happy because I probably could have won the 1st prog at much less.

I'll keep an eye out on this other chap though.

From what I can see, he's not claiming it's an original pennant?? He even uses the words "new" and "commemorate".
