Hi All,

Looking for some help, I am doing an excel spreadsheet for my programmes to see which ones I have and need etc.

However I have come across a stumbling block, postponed games, where can I get a list of my club's (Watford) postponded games. I can remember some from memory but I can't go back too far!

Help would be appreciated!

Newport County v Watford postponed 24.10.60 & re arranged 06.03.61

Programmes exist for both games.

This is a difficult one !
The only way you can truly find out about postponed matches is by buying more programmes and checking the fixtures throughout the season.
You could check the fixture list at the start of each season and then buy the last programme of the season to compare the matches and dates.
Then if you find a fixture that was switched from it's original date you only need to find out why.
Was the match moved because of a cup tie replay (F.A Cup replays were always more important than League matches), players on international duty, or postponed due to bad weather.
Obviously any match not played in December/January was probably postponed due to bad weather.
Sometimes the hardest part is finding out if a programme was printed and published or destroyed before publication.

Aston Villa v Watford postponed 12/1/85, played on 24/4/85, programmes issued for both matches.

played 05/03/1996

I have a database of every game Bristol Rovers have played since we were formed in 1883.
I can tell you that there have been two games postponed between our sides, they were.

21-Oct-1980 at Eatville DIV 2 God knows why.
4-Jan-1997 at Vicarage Rd DIV 2 Frozen pitch.

No programmes were issued for these games.

Crystal Palace v Watford 26/12/1981 Postponed

Same programme used with updated insert on 27/4/1982
