Help with a former Crystal Palace player

I have used google and the Irish newspaper archive but no joy.

Jerry (sometimes known as Gerry) Cronin of Newcastlewest, Co Limerick, Ireland recently passed.

He played with Limerick FC for 71/72 and with Newcastlewest when they entered the league of Ireland in 1985. It was reported in 1971 that after returning home 2 years earlier to work in the family business he joined Limerick.

This would have him leaving Palace in the summer of 1969 aged 19.

My father reckons he played 1 or 2 first team games with Palace but is not sure.

Do any stats exist for Palace in the late 60's re youth or reserve team games? Any details would be appreciated. I'm sure if he did play in the first team it is recorded.

Whilst there's no central record of reserve appearances to my knowledge, a few people on there have fantastic records of their own and lots of old programmes.

I'll be back in a few days time on here if there are any useful replies

Reply from Ian King, who is the 'official' CPFC club historian:

"As you are probably aware Dorking Gerry/Jerry did not feature for the first XI.

With help from Tony1947 I have comprehensive line-ups for the Reserve Teams from 1958 and cannot find his name.

My records for the South East Counties League (Youth) are much less complete so there is a possibility there.

There is no mention in the Youth Cup or Southern Junior Floodlit Cup teams from that era."
