Pirate Programmes

I joined in on a discussion about Derby County stopping issuing programmes forthwith.

I went to game last night at Walthamstow, just over the two hundred mark. For them this is almost unheard territory. At the start of last season we were down to 35 on a good day. Yet our programme is superb value for £1 and some have said it is better than some Premiership clubs. If we can do it then anyone can. It just takes a bit of effort.

If clubs cannot be asked to provide a programme or matchday magazine - anyone remember when they had that dreadful Football League Review stapled in the middle! Anyway take Derby as an example what is to stop some fans producing their own 'Pirate Programme', like the ones I remember being sold outside White Hart Lane. It need be nothing more than a glorified team sheet along with the league tables and fixtures. Clubs would have no reason not to sanction such a move unless they really are that bloody-minded.
