The never ending saga of my downsizing means I have finally unearthed the newspaper years of the Argyle programmes ( so good news for a few of you who have been incredibly patient!).

In doing so I located the programme which announced that despite the wrong grid being published for Jim Furnells crossword I has won 2 tickets for a forthcoming match ( took my Uncle Dennis to the Boxing Day game v Swindon a 4-3 Christmas Cracker!) My wife was unimpressed but I am keeping it.

So that is my only known appearance although I did win the Far Post Football quiz for two years and represented Argyle and the South West at two national finals but I don't think they ever bothered to mention those.

It did mean that one year I appeared in a England v Scotland quiz so technically that makes me an international I suppose.

So what other claims to fame are on the forum that got you in the club mouthpiece...am expecting great things!

My online name when using Scottish fitba forums is TFW, short for Talbot's Favourite Welshman, penned in an early Noughties Auchinleck Talbot programme by the editor. Lived with it ever since.

I can't be alone on this board in having had a regular feature in my own club's programmes. In my own case the best space I had was a 2-page spread in each home programme for the 2014/5 season, show-casing my own Palace photo collection based on that particular week in our history.

Here's one example, for the Burnley game on 13th Sept 2014.

I had a page in the Palace programme once, when for a season they asked fans to choose their greatest Palace XI of all time. The club did a nice job of it, because I just emailed in my written bit, and they added photos that they had.

This season, I wrote a two page article 'Away Day Diaries' for the Dorking Wanderers programme, talking about my experience at the previous weeks away game. I did it for about 8 or 9 issues, then the programme got massively scaled down by management and the article got the chop!

I’ve done 2-3 pages per Dundalk programme for the last 19 or 20 seasons. For most of that time I’ve had a page for a cathartic rant about fixture congestion, pink boots, cult heroes or whatever enters my mind. And then I do another page or two usually something of interest to both home and away and/or historic stuff. I’m unreasonably proud of our 9 or 10 Programme of the Year awards!

During my days as Club Shop Manager/SC Chair at Hayes & later HYU pretty much had a page in each issue, occasionally used to contribute historical articles too.

Was programme editor for 2 spells at Grantham, along with director for a couple of years so appeared quite reguarly over the years

Was most pleased with this cover from 2004 (however the game was postponed, because of the snow)

Have also appeared in several away programmes (surveys etc) and others that didn't involve Grantham, most notably Nuneaton v Middlesbrough FA Cup (2006) as I did an article about Grantham v Middlesbrough in the FA Cup in 74', but they spelt my name wrong Crying or Very sad

When Sam Hammam purchased Cardiff City back in 2020, there was a picture of me on the pitch in the following match programme, holding one of them big oversized cheques with 3 other fans.

I'll have to see if I can dig it out sometime as I would have been a young lad at the time!!! Ayatollah
