Could any Tottenham collectors help me in regard to a possible postponed programme dated 16/1/82 v Middlesbrough? I know the following programmes were issued:

02/01/82 Number 15 v Arsenal FAC
18/01/82 Number 17 v Nottingham Forest LC
23/01/82 Number 17 v Leeds FAC
27/01/82 Number 18 v Middlesbrough (rearranged game)

Was there a 16/01/82 Number 16 v Middlesbrough issued?

Hi Rocky, have just picked up your query regarding THFC v. Middlesbrough from Jan '82 an another thread.

As far as I'm aware, a programme dated 16th January (the postponed date) DOESN'T exist. The discrepancies in the numbering sequence is down to the fact that the programme for the Nottingham Forest League Cup tie on the Monday evening had already been prepared prior to the weekend.

I would assume that a programme was being prepared for the original date of Jan 16th, but given the wretched weather early in 1982 was certainly never printed.

Hope this helps - all the best,
Lee.

Thanks for your reply Lee.

Deep down my thoughts were that if a programme had been produced then it would have surfaced by now. Nevertheless, with the numbering, it did raise a doubt. By coincidence, the 81/82 season also saw numbers on Boro’s home programmes go awry with a number of postponements.
