What's the difference between a Manager and a Head Coach Confused

Hope someone can answer 'cos I havn't a clue.

A Manager has full control over the the players. ie Transfers, contracts, coaching etc.

A Head Coach only has control over the playing side. No control over transfers and contracts. As a Sporting Director or Director of Football will cover those areas.

That's what a European model is. English clubs, mostly, still run an old model where the Manager has full control over signings and contracts. Hardly any other country employs a manager that has total control.

Brentford employs a Head Coach. Then there are now 2 Directors of Football, one analytical - stats based - and the other football based.
