Has anyone ever started a collection of a Specific player from their club ? I mean Photos, autographs , books and the like ? Maybe a superstar of his time. I know we have our own Derek Dougan fan, but what about anyone else. And if you had to start , which one player would you pick ?

Thats easy........Jimmy Dickinson (Mr Portsmouth)

I was lucky enough to see him in his last few years....not fast but positional sense & timing......wonderful.

My grandfather, Duncan Lindsay. East Fife, Cowdenbeath, Newcastle Utd, Bury, Ashton National, Bury, Northampton, Hurst, Hartlepools Utd, Barrow, York City, Ashton National, Hurst.

Such a personal quest, and surprisingly successful, given that he began his career in 1925 and retired from playing in 1938. The pre-war programmes are rare, but in an odd way, it makes it more satisfying to unearth the occasional specimen.

I'm yet to find an East Fife programme from 1925-26 (doubtful that they existed, home or away), or an Ashton National or Hurst FC home programme. I've been lucky enough to find a fair selection of the other clubs, but the quest continues...

I have a book by Robert McNally dedicated to Steve Bull (Wolves).
From the beginning at Birmingham boys to his last game at Hereford.
It has a programme guide, fanzines and all type of merchandise.
