Can any of our friends from over the border tell me which Club(s) the above named played for? I think it would be late 19th / early 20th century.

I'm assuming that you are researching him for the same reason that I was last week - the Scotland medals etc in the auction?

I could not find any trace of anyone of that name with that spelling playing the Scotland games that were mentioned. I was also unable to come up with a club for him.

I am intrigued and also looking for answers........

I checked the line ups for the Scotland games mentioned. There were nobody with the name Reed, however there were a few Reid's - but with different 1st names.

I don't doubt the stuff is genuine, but it is possibly badly advertised or has the wrong games listed..

Viewed the lot today.

Interesting items. Two medals are for J Reid - 1919 Victory international v England and his medal for the Scotland v Wales 1919/20.

Also a Cap in vgc for "S/W 1914" - Scotland v Wales?

The other medals are for W. Cleeton - minor Scottish competitions.

I notice that the details for this lot have now been updated on The-Saleroom and the auctioneer tells me they have had some interest. Shame as I was hoping to get it cheap.
