For a few years, Danbury Mint have produced subscription only badge sets called "Victory Pins".

They send you a couple of badges a month, and a wooden chest to keep them in, you pay by direct debit. They're a bit overpriced to be honest, however they are gold plated apparently.

I'm aware of sets being produced for Liverpool, Man United, Newcastle, Rangers and Arsenal. Possibly one or two other clubs also have sets too.

Does anyone collect these? In particular Man United ones? Thanks.

Dorking,

I have seen these sets adverised in Sunday newspaper magazines.

I remember that the Man Utd set had a badge that I would be interested in, the 1948 FAC final vs Blackpool.

If Newcastle had a set of Victory Pins made then I would like the Toon vs Pool 1951 FAC final badge as well.

If anybody comes across either of these badge then please give me a shout ! Smile

Much appreciated

UP THE POOL ! Thumbs Up

John

I take it that there hasn't been one produced by Arsenal recently Laughing

As a Manchester Unitd badge collector I can say no. I did find them too expensive and there are better badges out there.

I saw a set produced for Chelsea. Thought the design and price was pretty woeful to be frank. Think they were £10 for each pin as well.

Thanks for the replies. Was mainly trying to ascertain if the Man Utd set has done a badge for the 1990 Cup Final yet (v Palace). I have ebay primed to inform me if anyone sells it on its own anyway.

I agree they are expensive badges, however being a collect everything kind of guy (from a smaller club) it's not like there'll ever be a Palace set anyway!

Palace never even had a single player in the Corinthian mini figures! Went through a phase at one point of buying and repainting the kits of all the ex-players who had long since left us like Bright, Wright, Martyn, Lombardo etc!

(and yes Wanderer, happy to pick you up the kit badge)

As I predicted a wee while back, a Man Utd v Palace (Cup Final) one has been produced, and has now hit ebay
