Went yesterday and was impressed by the organisation of the fair as always.

Managed to get a few items from my first team wants list plus a few reserves too. Excellent service from the Hewitt's as always. A good chat with Dave Allen and generally a good day.

Was really busy when the doors first opened but was quieter after 1pm.

Bumped into Plymouth Peter but not sure if any other members of the forum went (I believe from another thread that Giorgio went)?

Did you go? Did you manage to get anything? Was you impressed with the fair and stall holders?

No pics though - my apologies.

As always I had a thoroughly enjoyable day at this fair. Picked up several interesting non league programmes including one from 1923 and half a dozen from the late 40s (unfortunately no Bishops Stortford).Managed to have a chat with several of the dealers who use this forum and they seemed happy with the level of business. Agree that it did seem to quieten down after the first 2-3 hours but there was still a few collectors around when the dealers started to pack up towards 4pm.
Many thanks to Dave Allen and John Litster for organising what appears to have been another successful fair.

As always a very well organised fair with a good spacious facility and adequate space to wander between stalls as well as browse at them. Certainly an interesting mix of prices across stallholders ranging from the reasonable to the bit expensive to the ridiculous.

I also enjoy the presence of some smaller/casual dealers who often have the unusual item or a different range of memorabilia.

One slight disappointment is that although tickets are forming a significant part of the collecting world a number of dealers said they hadn't bought any with them but have loads at home (what use is that ?) or they are piled into a shoebox with the "have a look through that" (and you lose the will to live after 15 minutes). However there were also some very good exceptions who had tickets, had bought them and they were suitably organised to facilitate browsing and they got decent custom from me.

Also picked up some nice programmes to fill some gaps. Overall well worth attending.

I thought the fair was excellent and Dave Allen and the guys from Leeds in particular had very good selections. I got some good deals on programmes and there was one particular dealer who had interesting match tickets arranged alphabetically and I was able to get some there that I was looking for at great prices. The location and set up for this fair is very good aswell.

I understand this from a collectors point of view but if you think from a dealer/seller point of view then its a nightmare. What do you bring what do you leave at home?
If you think that attendance is between 700-800 then think of the range of 'wants' and collection strings associated with all attendees. Its a very big area of the hobby.

I tried to contact most of the stall holders prior to the event with a rough outline of what I was looking for, I knew that I would always find stuff with Mick and Alex.

Sometimes the dealer/sellers presence at a fair is beneficial even if sales aren't so good on the day - prime example JW Binders - I didn't but anything from them on the day but will more than likely place an order for several binders in the near future.

What programmes did you pick up gooner?
