I am a collector of the magazine and have noticed many that appear in 2forms,or more, this is particularly relevant on volume 8..

I have many queries but here ae 2 to start with

814 exists with BRYLCREEM competition on back page, and Don Masson pic on INSIDE back cover. Another version carries the comp on the inside back coer, a Park Drive ad is on the back.. THERE IS NO MASSON PICTURE IN THE 2ND VERSION, does the picture exist on ouyer cover.

From 828 to end the Park Drive advert on back cover carries no price in the box below the picture but I have 834 both priced and unpriced.

Do any of the other numbers from 828 exist priced.

I am also trying to ascertain the players who feature on the back covers of this volume please

Thank you

john

I think there have been previous threads on this topic. Also these threads refer to a website which has a lot of detail on this series.

Anyway I have:

80A Colin Todd on back
80B John Craven - of Coventry not Newsround on back
807 - unnumbered issue but forum members have told me this is the number - David Webb on back

Hope this helps.

As mentioned before, I have the bound set that once belonged to the Editor Bob Baldwin, his name being in gold block on each years collection bar the first couple which were the then Editor Harry Brown's.

807 David Webb
808 Martin Buchan
809 Steve Perryman
810 Brian O'Neil
811 Mike Doyle
812 Tom Hutchison
813 John Mahoney
815 John Roberts
817 Allan Hunter
818 Norman Piper
80A Colin Todd
819 Peter Rodrigues
820 Stuart Lee
823 Andy McCulloch
824 Tony Field
825 Francis Burns
829 Andy Rankin
830 Trevor Francis
831 John Wile
80B John Craven
833 Peter Simpson
834 Ralph Coates
835 Malcolm MacDonald

801-806 have the Whitbread ad, others not listed above have the Park Drive ad. There is no Masson picture on my 814.
My 828 is priced but not my 832.

Hope this helps, any other queries from the collection as a whole happily answered Thumbs Up

Likewise John, thank you.

Annoying that there were so many alternative versions, makes collecting them a nightmare!

On a related theme does anyone on the forum know what happened to Bob Baldwin? I know he worked on FA publications and Leeds United programmes but would like to know what he is up to now or even if he is still around? Any additional information on the previous editor Harry Brown also gratefully received.
