Out of interest - when was Cloughie first listed in the team line-up of a programme?
Was it his debut for Sunderland v Barnsley 55/6?
Or was there a reserve issue prior to that?

Just wondered - as a Derby collector, it would be nice to eventually land a copy of this!

SUNDERLAND Shocked

He made his 1st team debut in the Middlesbrough v Barnsley game dated 17/9/55 and was listed in the line up. He was also listed in the Scarborough v Middlesbrough Reserves NRSCF programme dated 5/9/55.

I have no doubt that he'll be in the line-ups of other Middlesbrough home and away reserve progs prior to this. Can anybody better 5/9/55? Sherlock

Good grief - so I did.

Must be cos I had a magazine in front of me with a photo of him running on to the field in his comeback game at Roker in '64.

No - but I do know Molloy gave Cloughie a right hook on the pitch once. Is it about that incident?

Molloy is quite famous for scoring something like 14 own goals in his 5 years at Cardiff? Nowadays, there'd be an "FA inquiry!!

Yeah, it is about that incident, obviously from Malloy's perspective.

He did score a lot of own goals, probably holds some sort of record...

Picked up a clough playing for billingham synthonia in 1953 at the Methuselah auction on thursday.
sad that he`s not continuing with the auctions.
