Hello!

Ive not been to a fair for years and years (probably 15!!!) and most are a lengthily drive away!

Am i right in thinking there was a fair in Bristol a few months ago? If so is this likely to come around again soon as id like to go and meet some of the members off here.

I cant imagine id be so lucky with anyone doing anything in Cardiff?

Someone should get one organised at the Cardiff City Stadium.

I went to my first fair at the Bluebords Club, around 1978 or 79.

Yes, that would be brilliant. When i was about 10 i remember going to a fair every year - i remember sanatorium road in the civil service club house, that hall thing by where tesco extra is in canton, a church somewhere too. But since ive been back into collectiong 4 years ago ive heard nothing about a fair at all in Cardiff Crying or Very sad

Craig.
Yes there was one in Bristol a little while back. I think it was infoman on here that arranged it. He may be able to tell you if another one will take place.
If there is one in Cardiff I would try to get there as it's not very far.

Exactly the same if there was one in Bristol i just want to go away. Id even go to Reading/Swindon etc i think for a day out but driving to any of the Northern/Yorkshire fairs is a bit extreme and even London is a little too far i think.

Hi every one

I am planning to do another Bristol programme fair.

It will NOT be at Bristol Temple meads railway station like last time

It WILL be on a Sunday in

September/October/November will be the most likely time.

When the fixtures are announced(friday June 17th)

and sky have finalised the LIVE games

I'll look round for a venue

The programme fair will include SUBBUTEO and anything footy related

books Videos DVD's etc

If you have any suggestions, please feel free to let me know.

This could be a very good idea, the football programme centre could host an annual fair? Obviously a lot of work needed but I would be willing to help out if I could....

This has been covered before by mancitymark and a venue in Milton keynes was mentioned. In theory, it sounds like an absolutely fabulous idea, however i dont know enough about the hobby to be able to organise one and dont know if i would have the time either. If someone with the experience would do it i would be willing to help out in any way possible if we could put the Programme Forum name to it.

However, it is an amazing idea!!

Here is one of Marks original threads - http://www.footballprogrammecentre.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=802 i think there must be another one which discussed it in further detail too.

How about having the fair in the midlands like birmingham - for most apart from scotland the journey would be no less then two hours ?

As for a programme fair in wales, it would be interesting to see how much the city would charge for usage of one of there rooms

Whilst this seems like a good idea, there are already a few in the midlands (Wolves, Stoke, Telford, Stafford to name a few), but very few in the Bristol/Wales areas, so for people who cant/wont travel so far a fair down there would be better, and some of us from the midlands could easily travel down.

There was a fair in the Cardiff Marriot hotel 4/5 years ago,but not well attended really.

However, would be great to try again in Cardiff or Newport area this late summer/autumn time.

Would be good to meet regular forum users and try to sell some spares that are accumulating for welsh clubs particularly.

went to the temple meads one last year and it was a good effort.
