You come across as being just a tad bitter with PM for some reason, that screams out from your postings. You seem to miss the point however, personally I buy PM to read the articles not to scour the adverts. It's not in competition with ebay as the magazine is primarily for reading, although it's undoubtedly suffering from a drop in interest from those who only buy it for Market Place . If more collectors (myself included) contributed decent articles then it would perhaps be better than what it currently is. I fear it's too late however.
How you can say there's NO DEMAND for an alternative magazine on the market? I personally believe there is plenty of scope for a professionally produced magazine covering all aspects of football memorabilia collecting to be on the shelves of WH Smith. Look at the range of magazines available for even the obscurest of hobbies, you can't tell me that football memorabilia collecting is any less popular than cross stitching or model car collecting or plastic aircraft building.
I have now managed to obtain some further information about this seller from Belgrade now that my contact in Serbia has met him on my behalf, examined the item and has confirmed to me that this is THE COUSIN of the notorious Srdan Stjic-well known rip off, liar, con man and cheat. Yes the item looks to be genuine, but the chances of anyone wishing to travel there with this much money is remote conversely they will only meet you on their turf.
Best suggestion is to tell them both to go and FXXK themselves and all who sail in her. I was never one of those who got caught out as all that they offered before i already had and i knew where mine came from, I was never that desperate to send bundles of money to strangers who claimed had found the holy grail, experience taught me to wait and to hang on as I have always maintained if the re is one then there will surely be two[or more], and if you are to get one one day and be in the right place at the right time then it was meant to be and no other reason as far as I am concered-Leslie Millman-manchesterunitedman1, www.flickr.com/photos/manchesterunitedman1/
Ebay itself ensures that this type of publication, if done right, could ride on the back of its success. |
THERE IS INSUFFICIENT DEMAND. How many collectors of football programmes who are activley serious about their hobby?, 1000, 2000, 10,000 more or less. The circulation for say a modelling magazine, or a model train or anything such as you have mentioned is by far a greater audience. There is no money in our hobby to support a monthly/quarterly mag-if there was John from PM would have done it by now-at its peak he had around 2000 collectors subscribing-you cannot run a business with that small number of paying customers and production, paper, ink and printing and distribution costs have soared over the last few years. Lets agree to disagree and leave it at that!
Yes my gripe was mainly with his treatment and arrognace of collectors but now he is struggling as a business and has been for a long time, I take no real pleasure in wishing to see it vanish my comments are that he has blamed everyone and everything but himself and not faced up to the fact the new kid on the block is a world wide movement and that is where he fails, embrace it and work with it do not criticise it continually. Ebay is a business and it makes millions a day, something we would all like to to do, but they are resolute in the way they operate and if you do not like their style then do not use it-simple, i think they are getting expensive but as a buyer and not a seller I aint got a lot of complaining to do really. Just had further confirmation from my contact in Serbia about this Sarajevo programme, it appears that the seller DID NOT after all bring it to the meeting saying he was suspicious in case my contact stole it from him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, but hand over the £8k and it will be given to you later-hahahaahahahahh-talk about Robbery without violence!. What the seller did offer to my contact was an item related to Red Star Belgrade from the early 1960's that was genuine but is of little value and this is where the confuasion lies with me reporting yesterday that the item had been seen and was genuine.
Just forget it everyone-another disaster waiting to happen, and going back to Programme Monthly and all my comments earlier-just another example of "the Editor" taking money for an ad and not really too concerned if it existed or not-well that is how it portrays doesn't it-he could have asked to see a photocopy or have some part of it emailed over and if the seller was unwilling to do this then that starts to set the alarm bells ringing-well it would for me!. I have to add that I have a couple of contacts in Serbia and they are throughly trustworthy and decent and most genuine collectors just as I have have 3 other contacts in Argentina who do not produce fake tickets and memorabilia for the 1968 World Club Championship games for Estudiantes and Manchester United, yes there are forgers out there in South America for sure and the watchword is beware, but so far I have always received what I paid for and on each occassion the items are genuine. Anyone wishing to see some of these items from the Estudiantess games in 1968 and the Red Star games in 1958 then go to www.flickr.com/photos/manchesterunitedman1/.

Hello to everybody on this forum and especially to Leslie Millman,
My name is Andreja Zivkovic and I am the one who is selling Sarajevo-Manchester United 1967 programme in Progrmme Monthly.
Leslie Millman, I do not know you and I never heard about you in my life.
I would like to ask you why are you telling lies about me?I met with your contact(a Serbian man who introduced to me as Vladan Vukasinovic)and I showed him a Srajevo programme. He and you know that very well. You also know that I did not ask for any money and that I did not offer any other items for sale.I do not know anybody named Srdan Stajic and I never heard that name in my life. So,I am certainly not his cousine.A message for TREBLE 99 too,I am not claiming to be an architect,I am an architect. And it was nice of you to call me an amateur, but even an amateur has brains and knows how and where to gather information about rare programmes and their value.Everybody on this forum should know that when I met Leslie Millmans contact he lied to me telling me that he was instructed by John Litster of Programme Monthly to find me and check if the programme exists and it is in good condition. That man,Vladimir Vukasinovic called me EVERY day(5 days in a row) until I agreed to meet with him and was so interested will I sell the programme.I explained to him that I am not in a hurry to sell it.Dear Leslie Millman,Belgrade is not in Kosovo,it is in Serbia and it is its capital city with population of 2300000.It is also very safe and friendly city(just ask about 1000 Glasgow Rangers fans who visited it in 2007 when Rangers played against Red Star).Anybody who is intersted in buying this rare and valuable programme may contact me at [email protected] and will get all the info and scans.Anybody who is interested in buying the programe and coming to Belgrade, to check it out(hold it in the hands, feel it and inspect it in any way and only than pay for it)should know that there is a low cost plane company wizzair(www.wizzair.com) that flies from London to Belgrade at a reasonable prices.Regards to all good will people and greetings from Serbia(not Kosovo).

i will say that you may not have heard of me but everyone else in the UK has,and i back my judgement and that of fellow collector Treble99 against any guff that you can offer. Yes we shall all rush to meet you on your territory with 8 thousand euros-good idea, and you are telling me that you have brains?, so if the flights are very cheap-buy yourself a return ticket and come to sunny Manchester where it is even more friendly and everyone is nice. We shall trust what you say about the man from the past Srdan because you say so-so that makes it good. Vladan is a trusted collector and has been known to me and other UK collectors for may years-so he called you 5 times-so what-maybe you were not at home for 4 of those times-I back his judgement 100% over any other seller or buyer from Serbia and I and everyone knows the difference in the geography. Both Treble and I have the original programme and match tickets between us and neither of us tell lies aS WE DONT HAVE TOO. iF YOU ARE NOT SO QUICK TO SELL IT THEN WHY ADVERTISE IT AND ONE FURTHER POINT i DID NOT ASK pROGRAMME mONTHLY TO FIND OUT ABOUT YOUR ITEM AS i HAVE NO CONNECTION WITH THE MAGAZINE OR THE EDITOR. i WOULD SUGGEST YOU DO WITH THIS PROGRAMME WHATEverR YOU WISH AS YOU WILL NOT BE SEEING ANY OF MY MONEY FOR 100% CERTAIN. Andreja, why don’t you do the sensible thing and put the programme in a specialist football auction, pay the commission and let the programme find its market value? Simples! |

Why are people being so aggressive with this guy? He is advertising a very rare programme, I doubt many people have £8k to splash out on it and those that do should be experienced enough to tread carefully. If you're not confident in who or what you're dealing with then walk away. Seems pretty simple.
Also, why blame Programme Monthly? buyer beware and all that.
However tommy's advice is sound, the seller should look to place the programme into a specialised auction in the UK. The way he is currently attempting to sell the programme, asking people to fly to Belgrade etc, is not very attractive and can raise suspicions.
PS. Can posters please try and learn to quote correctly, it would make things a lot easier to read! _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |

There's at least 3/4 posts above I can't read. No idea where the new post start or finish.
Maybe a mod could do it as it was a decent thread |

First of all, BEHAVE and be nice.DON'T insult me as I haven't insulted you.Second of all,who gave you right to invade my privacy by sending your Serbian bellhop to spy on me and to stock me for days? You said that you're not interetsted in this programme(fine,I never offered it to you) and yet you organizied this spying and stocking action. Why,if you're not interested in the programme? And for your information, your Serbian bellhop called me on my mobile phone 5 days in a row,so it couldn't have been the case that I wasn't home 4 times. Also, you and your Serbian bellhop are LYING(he told me that John Litster sent him and it was you who did that) and now you're telling lies to people in UK about me and about what happened when I met with your Serbian bellhop.I DID bring the programme with me and I DID show it to him. That is the truth. What are your motives for telling lies about me can be known only to you.Why are you speaiking in the name of everybody on this forum(other people have their own brains and are able to make their own decisions)? And no, not all the people have to rush to my territory,as you call it,with 8 thousand pounds(not euros),only the persons who are genuinely interested in buying this programme. As I've already explained to TREBLE 99,Raymond Adler that is, Serbian citizens NEED visa to enter UK.And procedure for that is very complicated(tons of documents are being asked from UK embassy) and it's also very time consuming.I'm a very busy with my job as an architect and with my family and I really don't have a time for that.On the other hand,UK citizens DON'T need visa for Serbia.BIG difference, don't you think?I really DON't care what you(Leslie Millman) will believe or not what I said about the man from the past Srdan.I DON'T know who that man is and I NEVER heard about him.I met your Serbian bellhop(Vladimir or Vladan Vukasinovic, how many names this chap has?) for the first time in my life several days ago when we met in Belgrade city centre. He doesn't know me,never seen me in his life before our meeting several days ago and yet he's claiming that I'm a cousine of some man I never heard of?Yes,that's very believable. And may I ask, based on what he claims such ridiculous thing?Vladimir/Vladan might be a trusted collector but he told lies to me when we met and obviously he told lies about me after our meeting. What I will do with MY property is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.Why do I advertize it?Becayse I want to sell it.But that doesn't mean that I'm in a hurry to sell it.I will not be seeing any of your money?I don't know what are you ranting about,I DON'T know you and I NEVER offered this programme to you.Dear Leslie Milman,it's obvious that you have a problem with me(although you DON'T know me).I don't have any problems with you(how can I, when I don't know you).Dear Leslie Millman,it's a FACT that I HAVE a genuine Sarajevo-Manchester United 1967 programme in excellent condition,A HOLY GRALE of Manchester United programmes(the RAREST AND MOST VALUABLE ONE)and it's FOR SALE.If that fact bothers you and you have problems because of it,sorry, but I really can't help you.
INFORMATION for all those who are interested in buying this programme:
Partizan Belgrade will be playing against Arsenal in Champions League. So,if you have some friends collectors among Arsenal fans who'll be coming to Belgrade for the game, feel free to give them my name and e-mail address( [email protected]) so they can meet with me and check out the programme.Regards to all good will people out there.

Hello "Tynie Topics",
Thank you for normal and sensible thinking.I did contact mayor auction houses and I have my reasons why I won't sell through them. Can you tell me why do you think asking people to fly to Belgrade, is not very attractive and can raise suspicions?Suspicions about what?A meeting would take place in a public place with lots of people around.Buyer wil have a chance to check out and inscpect the programme in any way that he wants and only than he'd pay. What's suspiciois abou that?Regards.

It's a free world tommy. So,you can trust whoever you want. The top two Man U collectors certainly deserve respect(especially Raymond Adler who did contact me and was normal in communication, unlike the other top Man U collector).Maybe nobody in the football collecting world has heard about a Serbian architect, but this Serbian architect has a A HOLY GRALE of Manchester United programmes(the RAREST AND MOST VALUABLE ONE).Regards.

Andreja, I said it could raise suspicions with some people.
Frauds and scams are unfortunately very common these days all over the world, and programme collecting is not immune. The person that Leslie mentioned from Belgrade, the one who he claims is your cousin, ripped people off, took their money but never sent the programmes.
That is why people could be suspicious about being asked to fly to Belgrade. The previous scam may not be your fault or have anything to do with you, but it still places doubts in people's minds. There was big coverage of it in Programme Monthly.
I'll say again, if you want to sell this programme, place it with a reputable auction house with a reserve. If you don't get the money you're looking for, the programme will be returned. It's the easiest option for someone outwith the UK to sell this type of programme. _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |

Partizan will be playing Arsenal in Belgrade in the Champions Leaugue game on 28th september. So,those of you who are interested in buying the programme contact your collector friends among Arsenal fans who'll be coming to Belgrade so they can meet me and check out the programme.Regards.

Hello,
Yes,I hear you and I agree that people should be careful. It appears that you're confused about something,a Serbian guy who Leslie Millman SENT to spy on me SAID/CLAIMS that I'm cousine of that person who ripped off people. But,I couldn't care less about those claims as simply they are not true.I've already said that I did contact several major auction houses and for now I don't want to sell trough them.
On SEPTEMBER 28TH Belgrade streets will be full of Arsenal fans so I'm sure that some respectable Arsenal collectors will also come.Any Manchester United collectors who are interested in buying the programme can contact them and tell them to meet with me and check out the programme or even buy it on behalf of that Manchester United collector. Is this sound illogical to you?
About your avatar,Croatia-Scotland programme,is it rare?Regards.

I did not say it was true that this person was your cousin!

Yes, only 250 were printed for VIP's, it can fetch £200.
Also the Yugoslavia v Scotland match in Zagreb in 1989 is also rare (I do not have it!), it was also only VIP issue. _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |

| Andreja, why don’t you do the sensible thing and put the programme in a specialist football auction, pay the commission and let the programme find its market value? Simples! |
You answer your own question....he would rather not have to give an auction house a chunk of the proceeds.
If he can get a buyer through his ad in PM then fair play to him for saving himself a few hundred quid. |
