Did you enjoy Death Valley last night? I was up at another white elephant stadium, the Darlington Arena, to watch Wednesday huff and puff their way to a 1-1 draw Neutral

We won 2-1 but it was as bleak as I thought it would be, a crowd of just over 1100, oh the match was abandoned 10 minutes from the end when the floodlights went out and they couldn't get them back on again Shocked

ps No programme no team sheets What a tin-pot outfit.

Was at the Stirling Albion vs Grimsby friendly last night. Programme published £1, a double header with Hamilton the previous Saturday.
Went into the club offices earlier in the afternoon to inquire about team sheets but was advised that they're only given to the boardroom, sponsors and players. Hang dog eyes got me a special request for 6 of them grante, to be picked up at reception prior to the game.
When I went to pick them up, Steven Pressley was there, the ex Hearts and Scotland captain, now manager of Falkirk, no doubt on a spying mission for Saturday's CIS cup tie against the Binos. Got him to sign 3 of them (there was one young Town fan desperate for one) and he was very pleasant in doing so. Top man.
Barralad, do you want one of the signed ones or just an ordinary one to go with the programme?

Was at Stevenage vs Norwich yesterday - programme priced at £2.50 for 32 pages. Went in the home end to try and get a ticket stub only to find that about six others had done the same. As luck would have it I saw about 4 Norwich players give their used comps to a steward who kindly let me have one!

Blimey bit harsh on the millers aren't we lads?

Old Fred had got tired pedalling the floodlight generator last night and popped out for a fag break. Be thankful.
The scoreboard's not worked for about 10 years. Confused

It's not a football Stadium, its an athletics stadium, one which originally should have been 25000 all seater all covered, but the council ran out of money, so only got one side covered (top tier) and that roof leaks when it's raining, and we in Sheffield are still paying for it twenty years later.

Beggers can't be choosers.
In a couple of years they'll be back home.
In the meantime, they have to put up with playing at a ground that doesn't belong to them, .................just like Leicester Wink

Re the scoreboard, it broke a couple of years ago, and the company that made it no longer exists, so a replacement part is not available. To get it going again would require major work and would cost around £50,000!! Expect it to remain broken forever!!

The most un-inspiring list of all time.

It seems your fellow Owls don't necessarily share your view. Rumour has it (backed by the GTFC ticket office) that upwards of 1000 Wendys are going to "come ft day"

Only because tickets were free!

I saw that thanks, they were only available from the main office apparently and to get to that office and even the club shop you had to go through the home turnstiles and for away supporters to get through it was like getting into fort knox.

I had the same problem at Rotherham for Forest's friendly last season.

Was reporting on game, but didn't take seat until about 10 minutes before game and no team sheets anywhere.
Asked a steward where press copies were, said had been taken to press area. Went up, none there (think about two copies had been taken up).
Went to "merchandise" stall in main stand, said the same thing, but had one left on counter, so I took that - and then had to share with two other journalists either side of me.
