Anyone remember this?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FOOTBALL-COLLECTOR-MAGAZINE-NO-1-SUMMER-2000-/170513673220

I stumbled across my copy last night during a clear out, and I think there was only ever one issue. 100 pages packed with articles about all aspects of football collecting, if only it had lasted more than one issue.

There has to be a market out there for a similar magazine to try again.

I guess the lack of responses explains why the mag lasted one issue Laughing

there is a magazine still doing the rounds called,

FOOTBALL TRADER

they asked me if i was interested in having my shop photo'd showcased and talking to me about the market in general etc etc.

when i flicked a back issue of theirs it was full of adverts and they looked a little lost for material to be honest.

I guess it wasn't a success because it was too general. Most collectors would only be interested in one team. As for the " what's it worth " section, absolutely meaningless.

That's true though of all magazines devoted to hobbies eg stamp collecting has several magazines devoted to it, but they all cover the hobby in general terms ie. stamps for all countries, first day covers, postal history etc.

This shouldn't be a reason for a magazine covering all forms of football memorabilia not to be a success in a WH Smith sense.

Perhaps this particular mag was a bit ahead of it's time. 10 years have now passed and I'm surprised another publisher hasn't tried something similar.
